Rick, Thanks for stepping up on safety. Most of us has talked about our cars set up for 1/8 and at the same time like John said 1/4 more than a stunt race than a drag. If the race is 1/4 I'll run and only back out at 1/8 to get fn ready for Denton.

Bobjoe, we can get you in super comp so you can run 1/8 I think. Look us up when you get there, see you soon.

WE are now pushing an envelope which exceeds some of the safety standards we should pay attention to. I like this track but it was not designed for 8 second cars. I have seen a 8.40 pass at this event which went well thankfully . Has anyone considered doing an 1/8 mile for the Super Comp cars? Would not be a big deal. Much safer and the same show.
I myself will do whatever, I 'm gonna race, but having said that, I know that technologies have improveed considerably since 64.Even the pre 64 motors are getting it on with todays tech stuff. Would hate to see an excellent race venue get upside down over an accident. Have spoken with a few other racers and I didn't come up with this myself but thought I should bring it up for review. JUst sayin. Thoughts would be good. Thanks for all you do ahead of time. Hill Rat
I agree with Hill Rat. Running 1/4 mile is pushing it to have enough shut down for the fast cars. We ran our blown 55 at DOTD 2 years ago. I dropped the chute at around 1000ft and went 8.30 @ 123 ...the "turn" was coming up real fast...LOL. Don't get me wrong...love the event and the track. We appreciate all the effort it takes to put a show like this on!!

I think a drivers meeting would be in order to sort it out. Haven't heard one negative about this which shows that racers are using their heads . Blown Blu coming? Tell me its so John. H Rat

I think your thinking of "Blew By You" Rick and his is a 56. Not familiar with the blue 55 but 8.30 shutting down early is nasty stuff!

Eeeek! I thought that might have been the same car Tim. Good to know all is well and she's back at the drags again. Thrilled to hear you guys are going to run an 1/8 this year. Hate to miss it but I have to work. Give 'em hell Blu!

Lookin foreward to DOTD.. lots of Fun and a lot more Fast cars... There is a reason all the old tracks have gone 1/8. SPEED111 The stands stop at the 1/8.. Still a great show for those there.. 1/8 mile for the fast bunch has my VOTE.. just sayin...

No...Blu will not be there. We have already committed to running it at Denton the following weekend.

Will you have the Roadster at DOTD?

We will be bringing our 1/2 of a 55...LOL We ran it at Ardmore and had a blast!! Hope to do the same at Temple.

What class are you considering running at Denton?

Yep...Eeeek was exactly what I was saying at the precise moment that picture was taken.

It's all repaired...however STILL not painted yet.

Going to run at Denton on the 13th. I've put a hotter Mag in it and hope to see some improvements in ET AND MPH.

HAHAHA! I know that feeling too! Your running stronger than I am to be sure. I need some wheelie bars to really get ignorant. I'm going to run the 5.50 index (A/G). You would have to really get out of it to run that one, but it sure would make a good race!

MaxCackle was trying to find me a match race...but I'm always open to putting on a "show"...just don't plan putting on the same show as I did at YelloBelly...(hopefully that was a one time act).

I wouldn't mind running A/G...but I'm not real big on "letting off". I like driving comfortably with both feet flat on the floor.

Maybe we could establish a AA/G index?...LOL ...but of course that would bring out the tube chassis ProMods then. Blu is a stock framed "back half" car...all 3210lbs of it.

Default Thoughts on the change to bracket racing

Most racers will probably like the switch to bracket racing. Most spectators will dislike it. Spectators have always preferred heads up racing. What if John Force spotted another funny car .12 and then broke out? How long would spectators put up with that? Maybe next year, besides the bracket classes, two heads up classes (which would be much smaller than in the past) could be added. reviving spectator interest. Then bracket racers, heads up racers, and spectators could all be happier.
