Well, digging through tons of slides, I found these from the camera of Alex Tremulis. He had spent a whole lotta time at Indy, both of these from 1959. He had an eye on design, both with his camera and his airbrush. More of his Indy pics with the Granatelli's is on the "UPDATES" tab on the Gyronaut website, but I kinda thought this photo of Smokey Yunick's "Race Car For Sale" qualified as art.
The second one is the car that Mazooma1's Dad was involved with... ![]()

Great imagination jdustu. Never thought of the procedure in that context. I may have to copy that one, or try my iteration of it. Thanks for posting "Walking the Cup".

Nice work soo far everybody!
So, I was digging through some of my test prints a while back and decided to customize them by adding my pinstripe skull print design over each test print. In a sense, making each one a unique, new piece of art. There's only 10 of them, and no two prints are exactly alike. They're 18" x 24" in size. If you're unsure of what a test print is, please visit the Tiny Bird Press store and click on one of the skull designs. There's an explanation on every test print page. Thanks! ![]() ![]()

As always, quality from the start!
Not particularly new, but i figured I'd share because I'm geeked.. Received some pictures a few nights ago from my buddy Sage, at Acme Signs. He's good friends with John Mumford, who owns and maintains some serious pieces of hot rod history including one that I based one of my Blueprint Series off of. The blueprint is now hanging in Johns garage, within eye shot of...well, the Sam Barris Merc! They sent me these pics of it, and it totally made my day. Needless to say, I'm honored to have one of my pieces be anywhere near the real deal. Big thanks to Sage! ![]() ![]()

Stellar start everyone! I missed last week while attending the always amazing Starliner event in Wichita put on by Stray Kat Kustoms. It feels like I have been away from FAS for months even though it's only a week.

Dang Rob! Those test prints are wicked awesome!
Here is what I have been up to this week. Working on art for my Kickstarter project. Hopefully if things go right I will have the van at the next HAMB Drags and Greaserama for people to come aboard to set some wood type and pull a print. Anyway, this is a poster I will letterpress print as a reward for the backers.

sacredkustoms, I took a sheet of black lexan, taped off the stripes and sprayed some metallic black. Then I drew out the design with a stabillo pencil, and everything else was done with 1-shot and a brush. |

Yes..... you should also give credit to Max Grundy for coming up with the original design. Key word here very important ...."original". Keep drawing though. It's looking good. Just try to come up with your own designs.

Thankyou Trashed for coming up with the name. I meant to give him full credit for the original. I shouldn't have been so lazy. I should have just looked up the name myself. I do normally do my own dsigns, I just really like that, not like I'm going to sell or anything, jsut something to hang up in my room.

AWESOME SHOW TODAY. Seems like everyone's been busy this week. I started on a couple skateboard decks, striped up a license plate blank and got my shirts in finally.

The plate looks cool, good idea. If there was a demand, you might look into having some sets fired up. They'd be like custom plates in an imaginary old greasy spoon diner, or like the branded custom china used in the dining cars of famous old passenger trains. Gary

Josh....those are too cool. Your welds are pure art....you need to make prints of those weld photos....I'd hang em on my wall!
Ed- Love the loose sketches.

Thanks Rob (66Newport), Ken, Josh (jdustu), Todd and anyone else I may have inadvertently overlooked.
What an imaginative and brilliant POV you came up with here. Every other week or so you seem to come up with a design that tops all your others - which is amazingly hard to do. My favorite of this weeks cool offerings from Jigger. Really excellent photos Gyronaut, Travis, MJ Mike, Carbs & Chrome, Rottenpop and Mikef1331 Fool Injection - I really like the psychedelic look you have mastered. Josh - I have to agree with 59Buick. As mind blowing as all your creations are, seeing a close up of the beautiful welding detail really brings it all home. Congrats dart165!! Having your blueprint purchased and residing with its inspiration is indeed a big win.. 1320Paul - your dragster details are outstanding. I especially like that close up of a front wheel in the middle of the top row. Quote:
This is certainly pretty wild! I like it! Quote:

This will be taken to full color soon and available as Giclee prints in varied sizes as well. Thanks Josh, so are you! The walkers are too cool! Quote:
The 2 Jeffs (N and K) killed it this week, great work fellas! Heck, everyone did but one rendering that really sticks out in my mind (apart from Ed's loose sketches) is CixPack's blueprinted Merc. Great work monsieur!
