We used to get Amatos' tires, one pass and the cords would be broken in places. They'd last us a couple weeks. We had a good supply.
This is an interesting topic.
Is it the bikes that have more serious problems, maybe being too light the tires don't stay fully engaged with the surface and more or less 'skip' and the friction, like an airplane tire on landing, causes the tire to expand?

One of the bike problems is guys burning through the tread, traction, spinning etc.
