ever since i owned my car, my lovely late '41, model 42 Pontiac Streamliner eight sedan coupe, a very silent voice told me to do something special to my radio speaker grille. for this dashboard is very simple, but plain beautiful, it needed a little coloured spot to look at, even if it got a fresh woodgrain and some polished bezel and so on. i've sitten in my car during restoration so many hours, always listened to some nice music, and everytime Hank sang things like ....hey good lookin' ... i heard him say: hey, dude, fix up yer dash a bit, make it nice and i'll sing to ya when its finished.. today i remembered what he told me. i think my dash look a bit more fancy this way, and me (btw i hate this sauerkraut-term) for a german as i am took all the care to use the right measurements and realations from length to width to stripes etc. on the 48-starbanner, not easy to paint, but i think it is o.k. for it is all handpainted like they would have made it in the days back then.. the relation between chromebars and red stripes looks a lot more uniformly when it is installed in the car for you're looking a bit from above on it.. hope you like it and i did it period correct. whaddaya think, Hank? Carsten .... i got a hot rod ford and a two dollar bill .....
I appreciate the extra effort to get the proportions correct, that shows a lot of respect for our flag. Thanks man. Well done. Prost!
