Flathead newbe here and I got a starter off of ebay, the two bolts that hold the end plates on had nuts on the flywheel side. I took them off and used the bolts to bolt it to the starter plate, is this correct? It dosen't seem like much to hold the starter.

In addition to the the two bolts thru the case, there should be a small "L" shaped bracket that bolts to the oil pan bolt above the end plate of the starter. This bracket provides support for the starter and is important. Sorry, I don't have a picture of it.
