![]() We drove all the way to the Lone Star Roundup with ACME and Grundy, covered the booth walls with lots of hot rod art for sale and this scratchboard original sold first. I had fun talking with real artists Squindo, McPhail, Shawn Warcott, Weesner, Timebomb Jasin, Crash, Low Cab, Norwell, Ben Mitchell, and so many cool HAMB stars and fans. Next time I'll bring more bike art. Big thanks to Lone Star Mopar for retrieving my banner which "blew off" the fence and saved me having to pay a big fine for littering the fine state of TX. |

I so hate you, just like every one before it, that is just spot on! I couldn't turn out anything close to that (And in school I was meant to learn how to!) But no, I spent all my time doing physics and math! What a NERD!

Gary, I dunno how I missed yours but I did. Very cool image that one, is it just me or is that slightly 'softer' than your normal work?

Wow there's already so much kool stuff and Friday's only 30 minutes old!!
Bomonster- your work always amazes me!! jdustu- really bitchin sculptures!! I love metal work like that. There's a kid in my shop class that made a "metal" band you'd probably dig. I'll try to take a pic of it. Dutch Courage- very kool work, man! Jigger- Van's rule!!! There's a guy that lives under the overpass (yes, down by the river) going into Fortuna in a freakin sweet early 60s Dodge van.... Every time I drive by him I have visions of almost exactly your sketch... Tonight (geez, It's past my bed time) I'm the featured artist at my high school for McKinleyville Art Night. I'm super pumped for it! Anyways, here's some last minute pieces I literally just finished. I'm gonna be doing some live work on a couple cars there too, I'll post those next week. My mom uses to be into photography, and I credit her for both the photos and the idea. ![]() ![]() I've really been diggin on asymmetrical pieces lately. Just gives it a little more work for the eye to do I think. ![]() If anyone local is interested the show starts at 6pm and is at McKinleyville High School right in the front parking lot. Free hot dogs and root beer floats, too!!!

Here is a new scratchboard piece I finished I call "BarHopper" I wanted to try a fishscale paint job on something so I decided to do this. I had fun. The actual tank is only about a 1 1/2" wide. Original is 9"x12". Lots of fun. Hope you dig it! Nate Grice

Fantastic start to the show.
Gary, that is one fine piece!, Josh and Bomonster are becoming a given that anything they post will be better than the previous weeks offering!! Corvette Bob, your skills always amaze me. Dutch Courage, you are just an outright Pro. Jigger, I always look forward to yours, you draw what is in all our heads! Forey, Wish I could be there. Spoggie, Very cool, I really like the style. If I missed anyone, it's because I'm old. One right on the edge of 63, the Chrysler Turbine, burning the weeds.

Danny Thompson is bring back Challenger 2. It was built by his Dad, Mickey Thompson back in the late 60's. He's making a few changes, (Safety and parachute configuration, Top Fuel motors, Foose paint scheme, etc) Here's his website with more info about the new vision for Challenger 2.
www.thompsonlsr.com The Challenger 2 was Mickey Thompson’s blueprint for fulfilling his dream of building the fastest piston powered car in the world. The revitalization of this project in the form of the Challenger 2.5 represents Danny’s quest to fulfill his father’s legacy and reclaim motorsports history. This is a drawing I just finished of Challenger 2.5.... Danny's going to have prints available soon. Please stand by! 420 here we come! ![]() "Challenger 2.5" pencil on board 20x30

Love all the photography this week, Bomonster - crazy, the repair shop graphic is terrific and I love the simplicity of Jimmy's streamliner.
I've been busy on a commission lately and have been neglecting the HAMB - but I have got a few sketches to share. First up an old landy... ![]() This one was commissioned by a chap in Canada - he built the car himself using a huge truck chassis... ![]() I did a few more postcard-sized made up cars... ![]() ![]() a quick sketch of the big Fiat LSR car... ![]() this one I did on the iPad, painting over one of the Audi press launch images... ![]() and lastly there's this. It's the test rig for the rocket that will go in our LSR car. 1000L of HTP and a pump driven by an 800hp F1 engine - it'll empty it in 20secs! I sketched it on paper, took a photo of it and added the colour on the iPad - nice to be able to leave out the scanner...

I have a love/hate relationship with Fridays. You folks put up some incredible work, but you set the bar so high! I dig it, I would tell each of you what I dig but I literally don't have time, lunch hour is almost up. Thank you all for posting!
Here's a couple of my night shots while goofing off on Congress on Thursday night. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That's probably too many but I really dig going out with a fixed lens with a big aperture and just seeing what I can find by the city lights. Hope you guys and gals have a fantastic Friday and weekend. See you at a show, Travis

These cars are from the Deluxe Speed Shop in Denver, Colorado. I don't know the owners personally, but I'm pretty sure that's the fathers car on the right and the sons on the left. They're going to LOVE this!

Que Stick Canes
One with an antique glass door knob and one with a 1 Ball mounted on top. Not really auto related but think of them as wooden shift levers. lol

Thanks fur biscuit. I have shot with this Argus C3 for 7 years and it keeps amazing me with just what it can produce. Now it can't get the detail like the Graflex can, but I am just loving the tones it gets!

Wow, these are awesome works of art. So photography is OK to post, even if the Photoshop is only mild?
