GaryC. - Outstanding and creative as always! They never get old -always somethign fresh.
57 Corevtte Bob - That 49 Cady is so sweet! So is the gas station and that ominous background and sky. Justin (jdustu) that Chucklehead is super cool - reminds me of one of the soldiers from the Wizard of Oz Clysdale - the coloring and textures you come up with always blow me away - very well done. Fur Biscuit and Tiny - Stunning B&W - love them all! Johnnyjalopy - I will take everthing in those first two supremeley well done images. Love the background you did for the truck and the matching hot chick and 53 Chevy are really eye catching lemorris - nothing goes better together than old VW's and UFO's - Epic! Good night.. |

Been learning how to stripe and paint. These are all on 16 gauge steel.
We are raffling these and some other things this weekend at the Days of the Dead horror convention car show - proceeds of which go to a Boxer Rescue fund.

Great work everyone so far!!
Here's my newest art print to be available. It's called "You Can't Keep A Hot Rodder Down". I found a photo of this little modified on Saipan in "An Unofficial Pictorial History of the 500th Bomb Group", published in 1946, and I was intrigued. I looked for information on who built it for several months but never could find out any information, even from the 500th BG Association. It looks like it has elements of a Japanese Type 95 car, and aircraft wheels and tires in the front, but who knows what else. Unlike the ETO, the guys in the Pacific had very little to occupy their free time. And like any hot rodder would, this guy found a way to pass the time.

![]() I sold this original last weekend. I got a fair price and put the for sale on it myself. But as soon as it walked away with the new happy owner I regretted selling it. Why? Because I really liked it. It made me realize that art is such an emotional thing - as is anything creative I guess. I'll need scratch another one to get over my post-sale funk. GaryC: You're nominated to take over where "Big Daddy" left off. Your bubble top concepts capture the spirit, intent, proportions and kick ass creativity that Roth invented. Bitchin' profile and I especially love the typography design around the illustrations. |

Sean72- Thanx, I do have a website www.atomicsketchbook.com, I'm in the process of switching over to a blog/site and it won't be "up" for another week or two. I'm setting it up at www.atomicsketchbook.org right now if you're interested. I will be putting up a lot more work in the next few weeks. If you check it out, let me know what you think...

Yes, I too appreciate the response Boss245 and fur biscuit !
I was somewhat worried about many people getting this one seeing as how Cadillac Ranch is pretty famous here in Texas but not sure about else where. When I saw it in person I did get that weird "extra terrestrial" vibe, which inspired me. I dig cartoons and dont really see that many submitted here on the FAS. Jigger is really the only other artist I see posting toons fairly regular. He's clever as hell and is a great talent in that medium. Anyhow I have plenty more so i'll try to up the "fun" quotient with more "toonage" here on the FAS so...Stay Tooned !!! |

Some really great stuff on the show today, thanks as always for the inspirations folks!
Since I'm heading down to see finkd tomorrow to film some pieces on a couple of his cars and his shop and shoot some photos I figured I'd add a couple of shots of his rides/builds up from my instagram gallery. No I don't think that this app makes me a photographer, to answer the question that I know someone will ask. I just like taking some of the shots that I already have in my portfolio and playing with them and sharing with others. See you at a show, Travis

got this one from Danno's BlackHeart Designs!!! Looks WAY cool! I am a big Kiss fan from way back so I was very happy to see this one come in.
We have had 11 artists turn in their Rat Finks for the art show. We appreciate everyone that has contributed and hope that those that we have given Rat Fink blanks to will turn theirs in within the next 40 days. Of the 11 we have received - 5 of them are classic green RF with Red Shirt and Yellow letters...... If you are an artist that is helping out - Please do not do the classic Rat Fink - other artists have already done this. Instead please come up with your own vision of what Rat Fink should be... perhaps a Glen Danzig RF? Or Nascar RF - put the Earnhardt moustache on RF! ha How about Salvidor Dali RF or Malcolm X Rat Fink.... variation on theme is what this is all about - putting something that you think is cool into the blank canvas. We do have about 10 blank Finks left if there are other artists that are down with the cause. More info about the art show can be found at www.vintagetorquefest.com just click on Art Show and there will be more info about what we are doing all proceeds from this auction go to help pay the medical bills we have accumulated over the past, as well as help pay for future open heart surgeries. Thanks for all the effort artists have put in the past years - we truly appreciate it!

Bernie is a great guy and maybe being too nice here...but I hope you asked before you snatched his design and then placed it up here with your digital coloring. You did say it was not yours so you get a point for that...but it's still a slight to the artist to put up your "altered"version of his work without making the effort to credit him.

Once again some great work here on the FAS. All the different styles are truly inspirational.
Can't seem to get away from the laser cut artwork I've been doing. I see something and think that it would make a cool sign. Vector art, laser cut, painted and layered to create custom signage. Today's piece (about 18" in diameter)... ![]()

I would call that a "work of art". Very nice, it would look fantastic in my 50 & 51 Mercs!
