I have seen a few old metal shaping hammers in the background in pictures all over the HAMB. Let's share with everyone here in this thread.
Lets see your Hammers! Home made hammer, cheapo hammers, antique hammers, planishing hammers, helve hammers and even your new hammers! Post up!

Ken Crain is the owner of Studio 217 in Dallas Texas. He is an up and coming metal shaper and has a true love for metal art. He was recently bitten by the metal shaping bug and has been fascinated with the Baileigh MH-19 Multi Hammer. After a couple of phone conversations with the Baileigh crew, Ken decided to jump on a plane and fly into Milwaukee Airport in the middle of a blizzard, all for the love of metal shaping!
Here are a couple videos of him getting to know the machine: http://s694.photobucket.com/albums/v...0-13-12-49.mp4 http://s694.photobucket.com/albums/v...0-13-14-07.mp4 http://s694.photobucket.com/albums/v...0-13-16-40.mp4 http://s694.photobucket.com/albums/v...0-13-27-15.mp4 http://s694.photobucket.com/albums/v...0-13-41-11.mp4 http://s694.photobucket.com/albums/v...0-13-53-58.mp4 Here he is with his new Baileigh MH-19 Power Hammer! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've always wanted to know what the machines were originally designed to do, FIRST OWNER history. I would think aircraft part manufacturing would be on the list, correct?

Ok, my background is machinist, not sheet metal worker. I'm sure I am going to recieve heaps of scorn for asking such a greenhorn question, but scorn is good, as long as I learn something.
For years, I have been reading the word pullmax, just what does a pullmax do to a piece of sheetmetal, and how does it do it? Maybe I need one, and just dont know it yet. ![]()

I've never seen a Pullmax in action, but you can made curved louvers for one thing. Look at a Duesenberg Model J no two are the same length, that is one example that comes to mind.

Awww CRAP! I kinda figured that if I found out what one of these was, I'd need one! Funny how that works.

I am in the middle of building mine at the moment. It is rather heavy! I am getting the drive side of things sorted out at the moment. As soon as I get something more to show I will post up some pictures.

Thanks for that link! Black on a purple background isn't quite as bad as red on blue.

this is my Libert nibbler. i took off the nibbler tooling and created my own holder for other stuff. works pretty good for beading and planishing..its done everything i have asked of it so far. it was designed to nibble
10 ga. so working 18 ga is like butter.. when i get more time, i wanna make up some more tooling..it was built in 1944-5 so its built to last!
