I was going through some old auto books/manuals I have and I found this. It doesn't have a cover. It is about 1953 cause the latest car year mentioned is 1952. Here are several pages I took pics of. Be sure to note the switchblades! There are larger pics here: http://community.webshots.com/album/239011408iZdalZ/5 and the next page.

Can you get a closeup on the cartoon right under the words "for hot rod engines"? Honest Charlie's maybe, or was there one called "Speedy Bills" maybe. There were quite a few old catalogs out there selling this kind of stuff, including Sears.

Yeah, that's cool, but I've got ya beat by a mile - I've got a 1937 Pep Boys catalog.
Seriously, it is fun to look at all the real parts and gee-gaws that were available back when.

I don't think it's a J C Whitney catalog.
I have a few early 50's speed shop catalogs with the same art work. This is from a 1953 Fenton catalog. Everything in your book seems to be speed shop related. Whitney would have all the other nic nac junk. It could be a catalog from a local speed shop someplace. I love to look through them. I just picked up a 1958 "tenth aniversary 1948-1958" Honest Charlie speed shop catalog...."Honest Charlie hisself."

Yeah, I know, its pre-hot rod, but its full of stuff that a lot of retro rodders would give their left wingnut for.
