Well Waterdown at Rocton was good.
If it's not a blizzard I might make it.

I will be car-less at the time. If anybody needs a passenger/somebody to help pay for gas, and lives in the Rexdale/Etobicoke area I'll be glad to tag along...

I was just talking about the one B Lawrence mentioned. What other one are you talking about. I am kind of new to the Ontario area and don't really now that much about the scene here or the people in it.

No way I live by the airport. Do you have a link to that one? Would public transport swing by there? I pretty much have to take public transport everywhere as my only vehicle is my '56 and I have it up for storage near Ottawa.

The new swap at Rocton is not to be missed. Brian Hounsel is one of the principals in the Waterdowm/Rockton swap meet and is focasing on hot rod and race parts. It will be inside. Let"s support this new venue.

If Rockton is half as good as Ancaster, it'll be well worth the trip.

Is it listed in Old Autos? I'd think of going, depending on the weather, I'm a furnace guy so if it's crappy cold out, I can't go far from home.
Rockton can't be that big, should be easy to find.....

Thanks for posting this Brian!

Our aim for this swap meet is to give something back to the car community. Proceeds of the event will be given away to either a local racing organization or perhaps another organization related to the racing or street rodding hobby.

In a perfect world we would like to have a building full of vendors selling hard core racing and street rod parts. We are trying to be selective with what vendors are selling and we certainly do not want to see any tube socks for sale!!! We also want to appeal to a wide variety of spectators.

Vendors receive a free breakfast.

There are between 50-60 vending spaces available.

For any more specific information you can contact me directly at 905-304-9560 or at roddersandracers@hotmail.ca

Thanks in advance for your interest.

Shall we set up a HAMB meet and greet for both events?

Guys like the Hounsell family are the reason we have great swap meets and car shows here in Canada. It takes a lot of work to plan and run a show and they take the risk. Brian and Dave are great guys and I hope this first Rodders and Racers show is the first of many. I will do my part and support them by going.

Going to the new Rockton show to have a look. Sounds like there will be vendors there you don't see at other shows and that means different parts to look through. We will be vending at the International Centre on Dec. 4. A group of us get together and will be sharing four spaces all in a row. This is the only meet we vend at all year. Flathead intakes, flathead heads and ignitions, old time speed parts and good old hot rod parts like you used to see in Barrie before it became the show it is today. Rick will have his stash of 32 parts for sale. Who knows, a Frenzel supercharger or a S.C.O.T. blower may even show up. Come out and have a look. Should be lots of fun!!!

OK. I just paid for a couple of spots to get rid of some rod and some race stuff. We should also have a few of our new 33 Willys Norwell design racing Ts for sale. Jeff... your shirt is on the house.

I'd put pinstripes on my car, but I wouldn't put tube socks on it...

I think you'd be fine bringing pinstriped Christmas ornaments. Besides, then it's 'Christmas shopping' and not going to a parts swap when explaining it to the wives.

And I'll suggest this again... HAMB meet at the swap? Anyone interested?

I'm in. If it's not snowing or raining, look for a chopped/slammed 38 Studie in da parking lot. And I don't mind dropping the 8 clams for a walk-in, spill more than that on a good night

Funny thing I attended the social gathering at the International Centre on Sunday. I didn't see many socks but I did see alot of T shirts and house hold stuff though. And even though there were more car goodies I can see the writing on the wall down the road. I did manage to pick up a nice hood ornament and left some cash there, but the best part was seeing all of my fellow gear heads from all of the other clubs. It was like a car show with no cars just the guys that own them. Even manged to buy some of those funky pinstriped christmas bulbs too.

I'll keep an eye out for you from the QEW on. Otherwise, I'll just see you at the swap.

I was wondering. The only real Olds part I saw there was a NOS Edmunds (I think) 2x4 intake. I'll swing by at the start of the new year?

Was quite suprised by the number of racers that came thru shopping.
We think your off to a great start..

....I had a great time too. And, as it turns out, I was famous before I got there. As I strolled around the tables at least 6 guys were talking about some crazy guy that said he was coming in a roadster. That was me and I did it.
I left Toronto at 7:30 am (-5C or 23F) with double socks, double gloves, long johns, long coat, hoodie, cap, fur-lined hat with ear flaps, and a fur blanket, in my '29 Roadster. Several people said I had big balls for doing that. To that I added '....and they're BLUE too!'
Hung around with Speedy, bought some Norwell prints and stickers, got warm, breezed home in balmy 0C or 32F. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.....

Here are a few pics of the swap. This was a new, first time swap for 'rods and racers' and had a good turnout. However, stupid me neglected to have someone take a pic of me bundled up in the roadster. Car drew a crowd all the time I was there.....prolly 'cuz everybody else brought their daily drivers....hahaha

Speedy Canuck grabbed these pedals for his build....

These 'Electroline' lights gave me whiplash....

Makes me wonder what we would have done if we had to do this with the open cars back in the day...

I knew of that when we went to school with our neighbour who went to town with a one horse cutter...bearskin blanket and all that..and this in the 1960's

...thanks for the kind words, man...sorry I missed you and several others. Seems to me that lots of Hambers and others were passing like ships in the night in that little space, which was a missed opportunity. Next time there should be a meeting place at a certain time, maybe, or a brekkie somewhere close before the action begins? Just a thought....maybe one of the spring Ancaster swaps?

Speedy: you sneaky guy....thanks for the pic. It's much better than a static shot in the lot with me lookin' like a goof. I might borrow it for use 'elsewhere'.....

I think that was your coupe I saw in the parking lot. Didn't get a chance to give it a good look over, but from what I saw, the thing looks pretty slick.

Sounds like I missed a good one... again. I tossed the garage/swap coin and my girlfriend caught it mid-air. Didn't make it to the swap or the garage.

On behalf on ONDR,I just want to thank you once again for supporting our nostalgia Drag Race group and being the major Sponsor last year for our "Northern Nostalgia Nationals" held at Cayuga.
