well....it actually took 9 hours...and it ain't done yet. But during the chop we put up a go pro camera taking 1 photo a minute. I have now compiled all these photos into a 2 minute video for all of you to enjoy:

The car, a 1947 Buick Sedanette, belongs to fellow Coupe Devils member Hans Ola Christensen. During the summer we studied the car a lot, deciding that it needed a top chop! Time had now come to perform the chop, and with guidance from master fabricator Kjetil Kvipt, we hosted a Coupe Devils workshop at Hans Ola's garage. Our mission was to chop the top in one day. Ofcourse not complete the whole job, but to get the roof down and tacked in place. It was Kjetil's fourth top chop. His first sedanette, btw, and it turned out really great! Below are some photos I took during the chop as well. In total the roof was lowered 2 inches up front and 4 in the rear.

Our exit strategy in case the top chop failed. Seing the Buick without the roof sure gave me some ideas. This could easily have been the start of a George DuVall designed speedster/roadster from the 1940s. Look at the great speedboat stance, and Imagine a DuVall windshield on this along with maybe some kind of a boat tail trunk...

That chop came out very well. The car look great before but it´ll be a show stopper when finished--- I think I couldn´t bring myself to cutting into such a nice car, but it was for a good reason. I can´t wait to see that car finished , keep us updated

Yeah, the owner was pretty nervous for a while. Getting the right flow in the top and a proper look on the rear of the car was a real puzzle! I will do my best to keep you guys updated as the project progress. The plan is at least to have it drivable to our Coupe Devils Bonanza in May :)

My thoughts too! I was thinking a massive extention on the catwalk, hardtop the doors and a removable carson style top! Anybody know where there is a cheap Buick I can turn into scrap! :D
