SBC with HEI/ramhorns. bought some corvette plug wires today super long, hopefully long nuff to go under the manifolds Where can I get brackets like these? Prerferbly used (cheaper?) Just need to know what models came like this...?
You are probably better off to spend a few bucks and get the correct ones though a Corvette goodie vendor. A set of them shipped to the door will probably cost less than the gas it will take to hunt a set down. This will get you started in that direction http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corvette-spark-plug-wire-clip-1956-1982.html
I have the same set-up (SBC with ram horns) and I bought standard under header plug wires and the seperators that clamp to the wires and they worked fine. I was able to adjust the wires so they stay off the exhaust and lay down nicely!
You want to make sure that they are for the larger wires that the HEI takes and not the wire that goes on the points style wires. But there may not be a difference. From experience on my 71 GMC it is too easy to burn wires if you don't have all of the pieces in place and the wires in them.
For the ones that mount on the back of the block and also the smaller two wire ones that mount on the side of the block, I went to the "TRUCK SHOP" in Orange county they listed them for '69-'72 chevy C-10 pickups that came with SBC. That was about 6 yrs. ago, they had a web site but no on-line catalog at that time, might have one now. Remember them being pretty inexpensive.
Hmm I ordered em for 76 vette (has HEI) I'll see if I can look around its going on a 68 c10 I'll check some of my vendors keep it commnig
