Frank Federici of Shark funny car fame

I had heard before that Frank Federici from R.I. of Shark funny car
fame had passed away a few years ago. Didn't seem too old.Anyone
know what happened? Also wondering what he did in later years
after he got out of running the Shark Funny car.Thanks for any info.
