Hopefully, this will help prevent Skips thread from being cluttered up with modern stuff (I doubt it, but hope springs eternal). This is the place to post photos of modern day re-creations, restorations, "tribute" cars, modern FED dragsters, nostalgia funny cars ect.

This is the race car of my hot rod mentor who passed away a little over a year ago. His sons continue to race it. Anyway, they won the Nostalgia Super Stock title at the National Hot Rod Reunion in 2009...

Those little Opels can be somewhat temperamental at times, but they sure are groovy...

Me at the CHRR last year. Notice--no square cage or "high chair" seat.

Here is ours, we built it in the years 2003-2004. We have alternated between small block and big block power over the years. As you can see no ugly square roll cage or out of porportion frame.

Thanks for the history lesson, never heard anyone talk about their "Plastic Fantastic", even though I've been going to the drags since the 60's.

Picture newer than 68, car older than 68.

You're welcome for the history lesson... I guess the "Plastic Fantastic" nickname for the Funny Cars didn't really catch on that well, though I thought it was kinda cool...

Just for grins, me in my Anglia mid 70's. Early bracket racing, wasn't too bad pre-electronics.
Well I see the bottom of my coffee cup, off to work.
