Hey guys, I'm posting for my husband. His 1949 Ford shoebox was stolen out of the valley this morning. If anybody has any leads to where his car would be, it would be greatly appreciated!!!
taken sometime in the middle of the night on May 27, 2011 from Woodland Hills, Ca. It is a 1949 chopped Shoebox. Black primer with red/black interior. This car is very important to our family! thanks!

taken from the driveway and looks like it was pushed across the grass and either started or loaded down the street. It's not a quiet car.

If they pushed it down the street before they started it they have probably been watching your place and know the car was loud. Have you seen or witnessed any strangers in the immediate area in the last several weeks?

Damn that sucks. You put hard work and sweat into building your ride to only have it stolen from you. Then the police couldnt even care enough to even drive out and take a report. I HATE THEIVES. If america would start doing like some ofthe third world countrys and cutting the theives hands off when they are caught. We might have less GTA in america.

Here are some more pics of it taken last January. Kenny is a good friend of mine and we would appreciate all the help we could get since the LAPD (not surprisingly) does not seem like they are going to put this high on their priority list.

Thank you everybody. I'm just sick over this because I know how much this car means to my husband and son. I am not looking forward to breaking the news to my son about this. He's going to be devastated!

Best wishes for a return on this little dandy. Just makes me ill when I see these posts. It is a good idea to contact the Sheriffs dept. and the HiWay patrol as well as the local p.d. I wouldn't over look a facebook post on this either, not my game but I realize its dynamics! Citizens are your best friends on these deals, wish I was closer to help look for it. ~sololobo~

How could they not take a report? What constitutes a felony in your state? If its a dollar amount, can you prove the car meets that criteria? It's like the DMV, you might just need to go to another window{ police officer} and try again. Sorry for the loss, I really hope you get her back, TR

My nephewTommy had a '57 Chev tudor in '67, it was stolen on a Friday evening from the body shop he was having repair some little stuff. We didn't know it had been stolen, fas we knew it was 'in the body shop'.
I spotted it at the drags on Sunday, it was sitting in the pits (Fremont) with numbers on the windshield. I hung around it, was between runs with my '56 Ford, so moved it up near it, to say hi to Tommy when he returned. Some teenage yayhoos walked up, got in, and started the engine. They drove up to the buildup area and got in line. I had a friend with a car phone, so I called home and Tommy answered...No, he didn't sell or loan the car, it was in the body shop. So,after a series of calls, Tommy and his Mom got hold of the police, and before the Chevy got to the start line, the Union City fuzz showed up and arrested all 3. (the Chief himself came out, he was an old friend even then, Vernon Johnson) Good police work, even if we DID know him!) LOL

They took a report, just over the phone. It's a big city, so it's not really a priority. If they run the plates, it will come back stolen, but they just won't be actively looking for it.

This thieving is killing me inside. Even if it's covered by insurance, there's no compensation for the hurt it causes to lose something you've put your heart and soul into.
One of the people hanging on a cross beside Jesus was there because he was a thief. Is that what it's going to take to slow it down again? No, I'm not a bible thumper, just someone who hates to see people hurting people in any way. Sure hope your ride finds it's way safely back home........... |

So sorry to hear about your car being taken. Hope you get some good news very soon.
This is getting way out of hand. It has made it so we won't even stay in a nice hotel or motel when we go to an out of town event. Last one we went to we slept in the car with a 38 next to us. That is what these lousy excuses for human beings have driven us to do. ![]() Simply disgusting. Don |

thought I'd add that the engine is painted gold. That might be a good identifiable piece if they paint the car a different color.

You might want to post the vin so it can be checked if they. have left it on. Any numbers on engine or build details will help.
Will keep an eye out. Hate to say it, but very often things are stolen by someone you know and/or trust. Good luck Let's elect people who make stealing a car or going into another mans house 25 years no probation first offense in a hard labor camp. And they have to pay the insurance company or you back if it takes their whole life. Also elect judges who feel the same way.

i dont understand why people dont work for what they want and quit stealing from others(.this is why i started blocking in my cars.i left a chevelle out for a while got a phone call from a friend one night at a local pub over heard the guys at the next table talking about taking cars and he heard them talking about my chevelle.now any time i have my cars out i park another car behind them)sad part when you catch them you will probably know them.

My guess is that the thieves stole it with the intention of repainting/retitling the car and flipping it-probably out of state.
In their eyes, it's a running, but unfinished (primered) car ready for color of their choice. They won't need to cover some easy to I.D. color left in the jambs, etc. I'd be looking at 49-51's coming up for sale in neighboring states (AZ,NV) in the next several months. They may mothball it for a year and then try to unload it at their local cruise night/show w/o national advertising. That's where the HAMB comes in to play. It's got some body mods that they're not likely to change. Can you provide us a list of mods and also describe engine/dress up components? An engine and interior picture would help. My eyes are peeled in San Diego. |

Bastards! I've got my eyes open in N. San Diego county. Yes, a description of mods to the car as well as interior and engine bay shots would be helpful. Enough of this crap! Let's find this guys car.
It would be nice to have a section on the HAMB we could go to see all the stolen cars in a single place without having to search for all the individual threads; like wanted posters in the post office. That way, even if a car was missing for a year we could refresh our memories on what is missing and what we should be looking for. |

Hate to say this but I plan on installing All Star in my car once it is done. Plan it right and you can have the same systems that the new cars are getting from location to just shutting it down once the police are notified and they are nearby. Helps with insurance too since we never can get them insured for what our toys are really worth anyway. Extra money out of our pockets just for the ease of knowing they are safe.

Hope you get your car back. On Star can be done. Do a ground up resto and plan on it being installed. The computer just has to be reprogrammed for the things you want it to do. Dealer is not always correct. I talked to On Star(not all star, my bad) and it can be done. Just plan accordingly. The idae of having a place here on HAMB to post pictures of stolen vehicles is a fantastic idea. Lets get everyone asking for them to get one set up.

Awesome that you found the fuckers that did this. Not awesome that the car was chopped up. Glad you got some of it back though. Good luck on the rest of the stuff.

Maybe they have phone numbers or records of some kind and find out who bought the parts. Wishful thinking?

Sad story but least you know what happened. I was watching as with your weak dollar lots of Cars are coming here.
Where to from her, rebuild it or do something else? did you have insurance (never covers but some help) Maybe some local HAMBers will step up and help you screw it back together and maybe even cut you a deal on the missing bits

"he found the parts of a car like his being resold on Craigslist"
Stay on the police-Have them subpeona Craigslist's data to pull any other listings by the user in the past that have long washed off the Craigslist page as well as any shoebox type listings as the thieves may have frequently changed CL user I.D.'s. I'm wondering if the crooks or an accomplice stole your car to order because it was chopped and have swapped the body onto another shoebox chassis (that they have a legit title for) with the intention of flipping an entire customized car. They would have probably started with a complete, stock bodied car and may have already sold (or planned to sell)off the stock body shell. Is there any differences/details to easily tell your chop work from most other shoebox chops? |

If you check this losers pictures he has a shoebox Ford possibly built with stolen parts. Hope he runs into some fellow HAMBers at the next show he attends.
Make me think of the line from pulp fiction when someone keys Travolta's car and he says something like "it would have been worth him doing it if I could have just caught him doing it. "There is nothing more chickersh*t than F*cking with a mans car" Jeff

Heres some photos of Dick HEads Shoebox ![]() This is what he wanted it to look like.. So he found one close and just took it... ![]() ![]() Discription of what he wants to do: Mitchell Landau - Stock car look, lowered but not slammed. Original steely wheels but bigger and wider and a frame notch. White wheels and a flat ford blue. If I can get the right price I'll lower the roof a 2 inches and french the lights. LED in back, halogens in the front. Original seats and probably gonna switch it to a 5-speed on the floor with a 302 motor hooked up to it. There's an 8.8 in it but I might change it to a 9. I hope to drive around and just take one off the street and chop it up and use all the stolen parts to build my own. ---------------------------- Ok I wrote the last part hahah Hope this guy goes down... I wonder if all those cars disapearing like Chris Casnys T-bird etc.. if this guy has his dirty, sticky hand in it.. |

First of all, in the United States of America we are entitled to freedom of speech. However, defamation of character is something that is taken very seriously. Please tread carefully, as if this effects my business – you can most certainly expect a lawsuit.
My husband, Mitchell Landau, does indeed own a mattress store. He works 60-70 hours a week, has two children under the age of three and he is also INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. I am not at liberty to discuss details of the case but what you all are missing is the "SELLER" in this "chop shop" "sting operation" out of an upper income area of Woodland Hills, CA. He has yet to be arraigned on charges and has still not BEEN CHARGED WITH ANYTHING. His friend “the seller” is detained in County Jail and has been arraigned on charges for this incident. I suggest you educate yourself on the case before you make accusations and presumptions based on news stories that can’t even get my husband’s name correct! My husband has been working on his Coupe for nearly four years and has been working on it as a tribute to his late friend that passed away in 2008. The photographs that you have creatively placed in this IGNORANT string of NONSENSE are of HIS car. If any of you were resourceful enough, you would know that there is another person being charged in this alleged chop shop operation OUT OF A SMALL HOUSE WITH A ONE CAR GARAGE IN WOODLAND HILLS. My husband grosses roughly 100K annually an has obtained all he owns through hard work. All I will say is that my husband has no reason to STEAL anything from anyone. The person he trusted with his money and with his project put him in this predicament. You can call him stupid for trusting the word of a shady person but you can not CALL him a thief. Why would he steal this man's car when he already had a COMPLETE CAR? Also, if you pay closer attention to the photographs of the alleged "stolen" frame and car it is a FRANKENSTEIN SEDAN TURNED INTO A COUPE LED SLED.WHY WOULD HE WANT TO STEAL OR EVEN BUY A PIECE OF CRAP LIKE THAT? HE HAS ALL OF HIS NEEDED PARTS. ALL HE NEEDED WAS A GRILL…WHY WOULD HE NEED TO STEAL A BONDOED PIECE OF CRAP LIKE THAT? Here's his original complete car when he picked it up almost four years ago: ![]() Also, he loves cars, always has and always will. Unfortunately, his blind trust in a friend has made him a target for you IGNORANT ASSHOLES THAT HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO. ALSO, HIS LAST NAME IS LANDAU - HE HAS NO INTEREST IN STEALING A T-BIRD WITH A LANDAU TOP…THAT’S HIS LAST NAME YOU FUCKING IDIOT. GET-A-LIFE-NOW-PLEASE. If you’d like to speak to me directly, you can but if you’d like to continue MAKING THREATS towards my husband, I will be more than happy to share this thread with the proper authorities. Also, when he is exonerated, I hope to see ALL OF YOU at a car show. LET’S SEE YOUR FACES WHEN HE FINALLY COMPLETES HIS TRIBUTE CAR FOR HIS FRIEND MIKE. He has been linked to this crime by associating with the scum, bastard, douchebag that is still in jail. Keep in mind that by posting his face on this blog and making threats you are inciting what is called a “mob-mentality” and sparking thoughts of violence and the intended threat of violence. Comments, Questions or Concerns…please, please, please post them. I’d love to hear about MY husband and what you’re going to DO TO HIM. GET A MUTHA FUCKIN LIFE. My husband is a peaceful, charitable and friendly person who would give the shirt off of his back to a person in need. Even for assholes like you who have no integrity, lack the intelligence and the forethought to RESEARCH and EXAMINE what you are speaking about. |

I'm not crying. I know my husband is innocent. You all are the ones bitching about shit you have no knowledge of. Go wittle so wood because you obviously CAN'T READ and you are blissful in your IGNORANCE. Have a great evening. I am not afraid of any of your comments or banter. Your pathetic attempts at talking about this case are fruitless and only prove how the finger has been pointed at the wrong person.

I noticed that you were aware of how the "bondo'd up piece of crap" was built. Is that because it was dissassembled at your husbands chop shop?

You can't see the body style? The length of the trunk? Aren't you all car enthusiasts? My husband was not aware that this car was stolen. He did not participate in the stealing of the car. His friend did in fact disassemble the car and in doing so he shared with my husband the shitty construction of the body and frame. Hence, he knew it was a sedan turned into a coupe. My husband is not denying knowledge of the car itself but he had no idea he had a thieving liar around his kids and his family and his business. He is guilty only of inadvertently having stolen property where we live but he did not steal it and has never owned or oPerated a chop shop. His friend was helping him on his car and it's not his fault he let his friend use our garage. Understand, you're ignorance is frustrating. I hope I have enlightened you.

Myself & Kenny (AKA Munstergarage) and the local T.R.A.P. team know all the facts since we were there in person. Unfortunately we can't give too much detail in the mean time since we are all going to court over this.I know this is difficult but please HAMBers in the mean while please don't make any threats since we want to keep this thread open and not disappear.
Thanks.

Insulting the stolen cars builder/owner makes me want to give her the benefit of the doubt.

If this is even remotely true, then you need to reassess how you choose friends and you need to understand who the REAL victim is in this story.

the only one making threats is this guys wife, too bad her man has shitty friends! and yea right he didnt know, i ask my friends all kinds of questions when we hangout. like if my friend had parts or a parts car.
i would ask where did you get it? how much did you pay for it? so on and so forth. plus if any of my friends asked to borrow my garage i would ask for what and why, not because i dont trust them, just cause im curious and being nosey, and thats what real friends do! we dont hide shit!!! so lady im calling bullshit on the he didnt know story! I lend insult only to those that have chosen to maintain their ignorance. It is not my place to apologize for Mr. Cass but my husband and I hold no malice towards the owners of the car. We were not aware the vehicle was stolen and unfortunately we do not control other people (i.e. Mr. Cass). The vehicle is not one my husband would've been interested in, that is all.

Didnt your husband or you question why you would be cutting up a complete car body and frame????
Sounds like you all knew what you were doing even if you didnt steal it, you had knowledge of it being stolen. |

it dont matter if he knew or not, selling property of another that is reported and listed as stolen property by fact is stolen, is a crime simple fact. the fact to remain is what degree the charge will be. being a strong woman has nothing to do with protecting your net worth. I wont say he stole it but he was! caught trying to sell it, not only by the legal owner but by the police. case closed thats just the facts mam as Joe Friday would say.

He is guilty of trusting the wrong person. It is for a judge to decide what he is guilty of. I just hope it does not take him away from our babies (and I don't mean cars).

You know in Texas we take responsibility for our actions even if it wasnt our fault or wasnt what we had intended. We step up bite the bullet and try to make it right. We dont try to blame others even if their are others at blame.

I didn't know any of this until police were pointing guns at my husband. He met his friend in an auto body shop class. His former friend works on cars and has done jobs for others in the time he has known him. Him having a car there was nothing foreign to him as he knew this was a job he held from time to time. We opened our home to this person, gave him a job at our business and he betrayed us to the point where I had to pay $5000 of my hard earned money to get my husband out of jail for a crime he has been wrongly accused of. Bottom line, he trusted the wrong person and he cannot take that back.

Wow this is good stuff! The power of the HAMB! A car gets stolen. Guy does own investigation, finds thieves. Gets cops involved, cops arrest thieves. Guy starts to get justice and the wives of thieves start trying to save face by putting "spin" on the story. All of this is right here on the best damn hot rod site of all time. VIVA LA HAMB!

Unfortunately there are alot of people hurt here.Gammajewel is right, innocent until proven guilty by a "jury" of your peers.
So lets see what happens. I am sure there are plenty of people on here who bought stuff that was stolen and didn't know(think about it for a few seconds). So again let the courts handle it. "IF" this lady is right and her husband is innocent each and everyone of you who trashed her husband should apologize. IF he is guilty, he will get the proper sentence. Lets not loose faith in our system. We can all sit here and throw stones, but it is America. And "gammajewel" just shut off the computer and good night, you will not win on here. Not worth the added stress to your family or the victims of the theft in all this. I cant stand thieves either. Trust me. |

Fellow hambers, I truly appreciate you all showing your loyalty and support .However, please refrain from making threats to the suspect , his family or their livelihood. Not just due to the upcoming litigation but because it is uncool. I have decided to put my faith into our judicial system and am confident that all responsible parties will be convicted and sentenced accordingly. While, I obviously have very passionate emotions about this situation, I made the decision to not deliver my own brand of justice. It has been very difficult to remain calm, especially when meeting the suspects face to face, however it is not up to me to judge ANYONE, I will leave that to the state...

Now this is getting to be a good thread.
Not sure of any of the details of course, but I think the possession of stolen property as a crime only comes into play if it is proven likely that you knew it was stolen and after finding out, you didn't do anything proper about notifying the police or getting it returned. Now that may not be the actual specific wording of the laws, but I do believe that is how it is typically enforced. So, it may boil down to when this guy found out the car was stolen and what he did with that knowledge after. I am definitely no lawyer, but that would seem the common sense and fair application the law. As Munstergarage stated, the critical parties have been identified and now it is just up to the courts to try to distill out a reasonable version of the truth. Good luck to all parties involved to get down to what the truth actually is and let's hope that all those who are truly responsible for the crimes get what they deserve and anyone who is innocent gets cleared as well. And tough ass talk for either side (even from a woman) isn't likely to help either side. Probably will only make their own situation worse and definitely won't win any sympathy or friends on here or anyone else in the world. Hope Munstergarage and her husband finds more of the rest of the car in the process as well.

So was the whole car at your house or just a few parts? I would understand that your Husband wouldn't know if this was the case with just a few parts. If the thief actually stole the car and stripped it somewhere else and was bringing parts to the house then I would think that he is innocent. Now if he saw the whole car running and driving , then I would question it as your husband would have seen a more finished car and would have most likely wanted to buy the running driving car . If the thief wasn't willing to sell it as a complete car then my suspicion towards your husband just became very high that he knew something was up. Also talking about how much your husband makes $100,000 a year, then why would he start with such a dilapidated car 4 years ago ? I guess before I will make any judgment I need more info regarding the whole story from when you and or your husband met this guy, saw the stolen car as a whole or parts, etc etc etc. There's more to the story. I guess we will hear it all pretty soon. I hope your husband is innocent as it would sure show how some things can look without knowing all the facts.

About 15 years ago, I drove about 80 miles to buy a 1974 Caddy for some major parts to put on our 1974 Convertible. When we got to look at the car, the guy told us he didn't have the title but could get it that night as the owner was working and didn't get back till about 11:00 PM. So I told the kid that I will give him the money when title is in hand but let us take the car as I had my wife to drive our car and I could drive the Caddy the 80 miles back home. I could just drive my work truck the next day with the cash for the title. He said that would be fine. At 2:00 in the morning, I get a call from a raging drunk telling me I stole his car and that I could buy it for $450 or bring the car back immediately ro he's calling the cops. At this point I basically told him to f%#%"]f%^&% off and he will see his f$#$#^ car back in his neighbors yard at 7:00 AM and don't f^$#^$ing call me again!!!
I was sooo pissed I was ready to drive that caddy into the guys house and just drive off in our other car. Luckily I think about consequences. I wish I just left the car in the first place but....... Oh and I fixed the drivers door lock as it didn't work, fixed the water pump etc the day I brought it home. I think even though the guy could have called the cops, after the cops saw our house and my cars and heard my story with the neighbor selling the car for him etc, all that would have happened is that the drunken Ahole would have got his car back. That taught me a lesson that was a cheap lesson. Lost a day, cost a tank of gas but learned alot!! LOL!! So theres another senario that this guy could have posted on a forum that I stole his car and I'd be hung by the keyboard henchmen without them knowing the whole story. We need the whole story. Oh and the car I was buying was about a $300-$650 car. $300 was a pretty good deal and thats why I was going to buy it. This was 15 years ago. The way I see it is the car was stolen last May. The owner does his homework and locates his car. Lots of posts since May and all of a sudden the person that is in possesion of stolen parts wife hops on the net and joins our wonderful H.A.M.B. to defend her husband at the same time he is caught. WOW......Where were you from last May to now??????
All I can say is ................WOW...... I do know the guy who picks up scrap wood form a job site without asking gets in trouble for stealing all the missing wood from building the house.......

My husband and I have worked very hard in recent years to build our business. When we met, we had nothing and together we have built a business that we are proud of. The car was purchased when we had next to nothing and it has taken hard work to get to where we are now. He met Jon at west valley occupational center about a year ago. Jon seemed to be a good kid with a strong work ethic. My husband hired Jon to complete his car. Over the last year he paid Jon at least $7000 to repair the body and complete the car. Jon obviously took the wrong route and didn't buy everything he was supposed to buy. He told my husband he purchased the car because he did not want to run all new brake lines and new gas lines. He told my husband he bought it. The rolling chassis was intended to be used but my husband did not favor how it was customized. Jon proceeded to then sell off pieces of the car because we no longer wanted it on the property. My husband was arrested because he showed up instead of Jon. Jon posted the ad for the parts with his phone number and he arranged the meetings with the buyers he attracted. My husband was asked by Jon to meet his buyers so they wouldn't leave because he was on his way to meet them and was running late. My husband left a day with his kids to do Jon this favor and now he has made enemies with all of you people for being duped by Jon. My husband feels horrible about how this mans car was treated and never would have condoned illegal activities around his family and his home. I hope the owner finds the rest of his parts and when this is all over, I hope he can see the forest through the trees. |

I got a crank call yesterday from a gentleman asking about our business. I googled my husbands name to document any defamatory statements in preparation for a harassment and defamation lawsuit. I do not look for cars. I have two toddlers to take care of and just because I am resourceful enough to google ignorant rampages, doesn't make me a suspect.

Only on the HAMB! I can not wait until I am able to tell the story in it's entirety on here. For now, perhaps the suspects spouse should remember that the police advised said suspect that ANY form of contact to myself my family is considered intimidating a witness, not that I would ever feel intimidated. If my car is such a piece, the suspect should probably be more selective when selecting a vehicle. I guess price is no object when you can just pick any car you want and take it. Unfortunately for those of us who choose to build or buy a car legitimately, we have to work with in the time and budget that we have available. To come on here and insult my car and my FAMILY?! Then try to spin a story to make yourself appear to be a victim!? Wow!

I am responding only to rise that have spoken ignorantly in regards to this situation. I have no qualms about discussing the truth. Its strange how people like to point fingers when they know only one side of the story. It's funny how the police have taken such a strong interest in this case but took no time to take a statement from me or any of the people that know my husband. Negligence is peculiar. I wish everyone luck with their vendettas. My only vendetta is to exonerate my husband from this TRAP that was meant for his friend...not him.

If Mr. Landau has retained legal counsel, he should follow the advice any competent attorney would give: keep your mouth shut regarding the case and advise your family members to do the same. Foul-mouthed rants on public forums like the HAMB won't help your case when it gets to court.

Wow, shouldn't Gammajewel" be running her mattress store that she and her husband worked so hard for ?
All I have to say is if your innocent "Don't worry about whats being said !!" The truth will come out !! I know she is backing up her husband, but the anger and 4 letter words in her statement maybe she should be locked up !!!! If your a real car person you know it's likely to get ripped off, watch who you invite to your garage and watch what you buy (parts, tools etc.) It's to bad we have to be on the look out or paranoid but that's the selfish society we live in. Good luck hope the resolution comes quick and prosperous !!

This thread needs to die until things get settled. It's not fair to either side. Anybody that has worked on cars for long enough has dealt with some scrupulous people. Some of them are much more charismatic then others. You wouldn't think anything less of them unless you had a reason to. I was in this very same situation, it's easy to see how some misplaced trust in conjunction with enthusiasm could blind side you into not seeing who you are dealing with. I had my car stripped, I found the people who did it, and ended up getting my stuff back... Everything isn't always so cut and dry. Have none of you ever helped a buddy take apart a car? Do your ask them for DMV records when you did? Most of us tend to trust people until we are given a good reason not to.
Don't get me wrong I am in no way condoning theft by any means, but put down the pitchforks. The people who are responsible have been caught, the police/courts will get to the bottom of this and the persons involved will get what they deserve. It's easy to understand how somebody can get some emotional over this issue (on both sides). I say take a breather, and go tinker on your own cars and think about how your family would act if you were in this situation cause if you think your are to smart to get caught up in some pos's scheme.. you're just a mark waiting for your turn. It doesn't take much for to good to be true to turn into a nitemare. |

If I was making 100k a year I think I could afford a reputable shop to do a professional job on my car,in 4 years I could have a good driving car for about 30k I woudnt have to trust some guy I met in a bodywork class, because I wouldnt need to learn body work if someone was doing it for me.
That Is IF I WAS... just saying

Business has only increased in the last year. It takes time to build up a business. He can't pay all of our money to fix his car! Three kids to send to college and to feed. I agree with you, my husband associated himself with low class and he never will again. |

Hopefully your Husband learned a lesson. |

That being said you sure as hell aren't helping things by posting on here. I mean, you just admitted that he received stolen property. Right now you need to find a defense attorney, and a good one at that. If I were you I would stop posting in this thread. Now. |

$100,000 isn't crap nowadays. With Mortgages, costs of food, gas , insurance, etc etc.
Hell back in 2002 my wife and I made $120,000 and we didn't have much to show for it. Then in 2003 shit hit the fan and we went from dual income down to single income down to unemployment. That was an awakening. Now I make half that and insurance alone cost me $1490 a month. Back in 2002 I paid $920 for our mortgage and $125 for insurance. We did get our house paid off in 2002. So I could just imagine with a mortgage, insurance and everything else. $100,000 just doesn't go too far. It sounds like alot but once you get there, it all just dissapears. Weird? This is why and how I learned to build engines, do bodywork, paint cars etc etc. Around here its $90 an hour for shop time. My labor is free.
