Default schroder steering

I see they have them with the steering coming out of the top and bottom, which one works the best in model a's.

i don't think schroeder made them both ways. more than likely, you saw someone running one meant for right hand drive upside down so it comes out the driver's side.

Are you talking the pitman arm or the steering shaft?

Here is the link to the one that they are aiming at guys with street cars http://www.schroedersteering.com/HotRodSteeringPg.html
As Silent rick said, having the steering shaft come out top or bottom depends on which side you want the drag link on. http://www.schroedersteering.com/OWSteerings.html

maybe i should elaborate. they came in both left and right hand drive. they are intended to be run one way more likely to keep the gears in the lube. the one i had used a heavy grease. i don't think it mattered much if it was run upside down. one drawback to running it upside down would be the shaft that went to your steering wheel might be in the way of your pedals because it now hangs below the cross shaft that goes out to your pitman arm. or did i just confuse you more?

here's a pic of one intended for right hand drive flipped over and ran out the other way.

Mine runs on the top, exiting the cowl on the drivers side. If it's low, it's probably going to make for some interference with the feet.

Here's another example of swinging pedals. The pedal mount also does double duty and mounts the steering. This is a right hand steer version.

Also if anybody knows, Schroeder steering assemblies are sometimes attached using connecting rods at each arm. What engine do those connecting rods come from?
