pic request: bellyburners, stacks, etc

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Carbs & Chrome, Mar 6, 2011.

  1. I searched and there is not a lot out there (unless I did something wrong). Please post up pictures of bellyburners and stacks (not Lil' Red Express but just simple chrome stacks).

    Thanks!

Hey Carbs,,,,,,, I had seen the Bellyburners, years ago when I was a kid, I just didn't know what they were called. Maybe 20 years ago I saw a 30 Model A truck with them at Louisville at the StreetRod Nats. and had not seen a set since. Untill I bought my 51 F1. The one you posted here. I guess it was a passing fad. I kinda have love/hate feeling for them right now.

  10. nice truck!

  11. Thanks, not quite done yet. Still have to plumb all the brakes and wire it. Wanted to show it at the Autorame Extreme with my club.

The Belly burners were a big hit.

  12. Are they chromed or polished stainless. Where did you get your brackets?

  13. The long pipe is from speedway along with the clamps. It is there 70 inch lakes pipe, and I cut the flange off.

I made the mandrel bent pipe in one piece from stainless and had it polished. It matched pretty good but I may have it chromed.

I hid the seam under the clamp using a sleeve and the clam holds it together.

Heres my non-functional Belly Burners... I cut and re-welded a pair of Lake Pipes...the joint is hidden by the clamp on the vertical run of the pipe.

Epic Fail, It doesn't even look like they are hooked up in the 2nd pic, or maybe its just the resolution of my monitor.

  26. Not my truck,I do know the owner and the builder- I can assure you they are functional.
-Hey the dude asked for pics-I don't make this stuff up:rolleyes:

  27. Geislers truck rules. I had all the parts collected to clone it a few years back.

You may try searching "bed pipes" a few threads in the past using that term:)

  28. Thanks for the compliments. The 40 is my neighbor. I sold him the truck about 7 years ago. He had me do the body work and he did all the rest. His first rod I might add.

There are some good pics of both trucks on Hotrod Hotline under AutoRama Extreme 2011

Also some pics on here on a few of the AutoRama Extreme post.
