When PC's finally came around, I scanned it and did a photo shop type partial restoration. Glad I didn't destroy it all together all those years.Color photos that people took care are on the hamb, just search. If no success, I can find out. I often wonder if I saw this somewhere but with another redo, color, etc. The car also ran at Sanford Maine. he also raced against the Beeline Willys and K.S. Pittman. Here's the before and after photos, if anyone thinks they can restore them better than you have at it here.

I wonder if this is the same car. Looks very similar. This pic is from Conn Dragway.

Hey Willysrule, you're right! It is the same. That photo is from Charles Milikan's site of Connecticut Dragway photos. He also has another one on there of Angie about to race the Beeline Willys. Charles is also a good guy.

Also like the orange-one next door. The hood scoop looks good. (Are there other pictures of this orange Willys on this tread???)

Since seeing the "Hurst's Gasser Passer" at the Gasser Reunion at Thompson Drag Strip last June I have had a special eye out looking for those stainless & aluminum hood scoops ftom the early days of drag racing.

Yes.... the Opel's going to get a "nice one" once I figure out which design I want. This one is now "on-the-list".

Great Thread!!!!
the orange one is the orange plus willys. do a search on it and you'll find a ton of pics from Kev.

Really..... Did NOT know that orange Willys was once Kiwi Kev's.

In July we visited my wife's son in LA ..... while we were there we were able to visit with Kevin.

Could have spent hours (make that days) talking hot rods and looking at the awesome collection of hod rod memorabilia he has collected & made over the years.

So glad to see Kevin is being recognized for all the years of "true hot rodding" he has been doing both in his backyard garage & on the streets "Hot Rod Heaven".

Thanks again Mr. Low Buck !!!!!

Less than 6 months ago I punched up Willys on the craigslist search engine for the S.F. bay area and a cherry p/u body w/doors and new fiberglass front end came up. $950.00 in San Jose. It was a 1941 Willys p/u in epoxy primer with a little rust in the door bottoms. I figure it was already gone so I told a friend about it. After about 10 calls to the owner he went down and picked it up. I saw it before he sold it.It was nice!!!!. Yep there still out their still out there!!!!
