This is the Official 2011 Hot Cakes & Hot Rods breakfast thread for North Carolina and surrounding area. As you guys know the Saturday morning breakfast is sponsored by the IRON LORDS C.C. and is held on the 1st Saturday of each month. It's a breakfast were you can bring your old car and break bread with some like minded fellers. It also gives you another reason to get that Jalopy out of the garage and on the road!

We look forward to seeing everybody through out the year and hope this year is bigger then last!!!

Just as a side note. January 1st is tomorrow and it will be the first Hot Cakes & Hot Rods but I don't expect a big turn out because of the date. So I did want to let anyone know that isn't going to be hung over, that a few of us will in fact be there to eat some flappy jackys and even bring out a car or two!

If you are one of those hung over individuals then we hope to see you next month!

Not the biggest breakfast we've had (I expected that really) but may have went up as the best for me at least! Just a bunch of us at one table talking for 3 hours about Hot Rods, Customs, Chrome and an ass hole doing donuts in a German Automobile before he hit a tree!

Man I wish we could but there's so much work to be done after breakfast all the time that 8am makes sense! We have people drive from SC and even one from Roanoke, VA for the breakfast so you're not alone. Hell one of our own club members has to drive 1.5 hours every wednesday for shop night and then again on Saturday for breakfast!! C'mon man just don't go to sleep hahah!!!

I'm actually headed to Ashevegas this weekend--got a Sat AM trip to eat TN to pick up my motor then the rest of the weekend on an El Camino at pops' place.

I'll keep my on the board next month for a reminder and try to slide down. My wife says the only time I ever get up early cars are involved--she's right.

Grits are a grain and they are a Southern delicacy. Delicious. Funny story about grits. When I was a kid we had a visiting yankee preacher at my grandma's church. He was telling us about going out to breakfast with the southern preacher and ordering grits. He didn't know whether to get one or two.

Ok , driveshaft back in after the trip of 2500 plus miles today front u- joint had a broked needle bearing in it . Now today I added a front pan hard bar. Hope this gets rid of the car going left or right after going over a big bumps at 70 mph especially those bridge dips. Road test for breakfast tomorrow !!!

Yup it was a good time ! We drove the roadster and it was cold when we left 38 degrees from the woods of Wingate ! Dang deer crossing the roads early on the way ! But the Pancakes where worth the drive with the good car club members of the Iron lords Hosting !!!! Cassie drove her 56 Chev with no heater ,what a trooper !Blue fingers and all !!

Is Hot Cakes and Hot Rods going to continue on as it has been in 2011 for the new year? A couple of us from Fayetteville are thinking about coming up for the February gathering, but wouldn't want to end up in the wrong place. Looking forward to it.

Just throwing this out there. I am firing up a new "pig cooker" grill I built Saturday to get its first burn on. I will be fixing Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Pork Butt, Ribs, Chickens and who knows what else. If anyone wants to come by for some free food please come by any time after 12 noon. It will be in my back yard but I have PLENTY of room for parking. Might want to bring drinks and/or sides. Everyone is welcome to come with or without a cool car.
