Had to reverse passenger side defrost boot in order to fit tube to trans. Will attach a 90-degree elbow later so duct will enter from cowl side (like drivers side).

Cut cable to proper length and grease the shit out of it.

You're really making progress! I love your attention to detail. Taking the time to do it right the first time.

Figure out your wiper sweep angle and mark corresponding hole:

Shaft connects motor cam with cable:

Sure hope the damn thing works. We did have to play around with the transmission orientation to make sure they turned in opposite directions as the cable made a pass. So we know we have that right. Also checked to make sure that the first move when the motor turns on will be to sweep up, not down. Think we're OK.

Or, at least, the second time. I have made some real bonehead moves, only to realize later that it is ass-backward or some such. Thanks.

Have been following your build from day one, but I have never posted to say what a great build thread. Don't worry about the mistakes, it happens to everyone, even the pros.

that looks like the same unit they used in the amsoil, street rodder project 55. Speaking of I need to do something like this instead of relying on rain X wipes. lol

Great way to build a relationship with your boy. And in the end you also get a sweet car outta the deal!

Might be, just didn't want vacuum wipers.

Was gonna post a few pics of today's progress, but computer is agonizingly slow right now, will try later. Gas pedal, MAP sensor, ALDL.

"Fabricated" MAP sensor bracket. Had a pc. of 16 ga. scrap that was about the right size, drilled mounting holes and welded nuts on back side. Welded bracket to center dash brace.

Screwed MAP sensor to bracket:

MAP sensor replaces mass air flow sensor from original setup. Says to mount higher than engine. Note vacuum port facing down.

Bent up and screwed a bracket to some cowl fins (note wiper motor) and fed ALDL connector wires. These wires will route to trunk inside on right side floor. Figure I'll just let connector hang loose as is.

Installed gas pedal. Used floor mount so that cable does not exit firewall (exits toe board).

Brer, been following your build since the start and have to commend you on the work you are doing, good job. Are you going to put grommets where those wires run though the bracket?
