    Hello My name is Curt Lout I was a student at Hot Rod Institute in Rapid City South Dakota. Here are some photos for the 29 Model A sedan build in progress. I found the car on craigslist in Wisconsin so i named her "Rusty Cheese

    This car is going to be very nice there is a lot of attention to detail going on with this build. I'm having fun building my car right next to this every day at school.

    yes that is me doing the work. i never welded before i went to this school... the second day into class we had a torch in our hands. plus im a chopper guy. i dont know sh#t about building a cool safe hot rod. but i'm learning and grinding on it every day.

    I knew that after Jamie went through the buffet, there wouldn't be anything left to eat... I'll try and make it next time.
     
  22. I think Jamie was 3rd finisher in the great Buffet Challenge. We have some heavy eaters in our midst:eek: Karl and Floyd took top honors!

    I used the stock frame horn for a pattern.

    Plasma cut then knocked off the slag.

    Tack weld them all together so i can grind them all the same. Finished off with a little bit of filing.

    Next I TIG welded the first horn, then flipped it over so the they were both the same and TIG the other rail.

    Strap on the top and bottom were tacked into place. The curve was tacked, heated red hot and bent around. Kinda hard to run a torch and take photos at the same time...

    You can also see how the horns were pinched.
