This company has ripped off every manufacture out there. Their stuff is junk and manufactured in China. They are taking jobs away from American workers. Now they are copying Lokar and Gennie shifters and calling themselves "American Shifters" Crap. Don't buy it.

I know I am a conspiracy theorist but, you guys don't think they monitor a site on the internet with 100,000 registered users and see a thread about Gennie shifter and some trouble they were having and jump in??
Seems like that thread was a couple of months ago and that would be enough time to have the chinese reverse engineer it and get it here.

Hoffman group does indeed sell junk!

  6. Oh crap! And I mean crap!

Didn't know you even registered here, I ordered a ton of your stuff for customer cars a few years back when I worked at the rod shop.

Good points, you got it nailed.

Seems to me that if they were "legit", they'd be advertising in the most popular venues for hot rodders (yes, even street rodders) - such as the myriad of magazines currently devoted to this hobby/industry. If they have to intro themselves on FaceBook, it tells me something...and that something is NOT good.

Yup, yet another Hoffman Group ripoff company, stealing designs from other companies who actually make a quality product.

Open up the newest Rod & Custom, the first 4 pages are their advertising. Thats about $30,000+ worth of ink right there so I guess they're making enough money off of this junk.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard someone buying Hoffman crap, using it until it breaks, then replacing it with the real deal. It's only a matter of time until one of their Helix suspensions falls out of a car or one of these shifters drops itself into park at 5000 rpm and blows your transmission up.

Did you get it at Spencer's? Just jokin, ha ha!

Again, Hoffman group sell cheap chinese knock offs.

It won't be long before there is a thread crying about the "American Shifter Company" and the quality of the product they bought.

What is really sad is that they have not only knocked off one "American" shifter companys product, but two "American" shifter companys products.

They had a booth at the Good Guys show in Joliet. But honestly, it had been a while since I bolted in my old Gennie, and a couple Lokars, and it would be hard to compare without laying these side by side. The only reason to buy these would have been if it was the old employees from Gennie trying to stay alive, but after this thread, I'll probably stay Lokar.

So that ignorant, greasy hot rodders like you and me who probably can't read or write any way would buy them any way-even if they are made in China. I mean, who reads the fine print? They will likely sell most of 'em through the internet and you won't know it's Chinese untill it arrives.
After you get some thing from the Hoffman Group just try to return it.

If they have a clue they will know what the HAMB is if they are going for our market. If someone could get one donated to test for this site it would could be good for the company if they trusted their product. It would be a matter of getting ahold of the correct person in order to get one for review...

You get what you pay for, I have found that most knockoffs are disappointing.
