I decided I like sea foam green.
I need some paint codes or year and make of OEM colors so I can do some test panels. I found 61 ford mint green but it a little dark for what I want. Can I get some suggestions on different versions of sea foam green. http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/ I have a light gold flake roof and I trying to fiure a color to go on the lower half, so far gold, dark green, med green, bronze and now sea foam green. Any suggestions??? ![]()

I know mercury and lincoln used it in the late 60's. get one of the masters to photo shop some of your colors so you and us of course can check it out.

I used a ditzler gold flake and it goes very light colored in the sunlight and darker at night. driving me nuts figuring out the right match. The gold base underneath looks good in bright sunlight but way too dark on a sharp angle.
I do know lots of people have way better tastes than I do when it comes to color matching!!

The green on US Forest Service trucks has been described as "seafoam" green by some. That's the factory color my '67 GMC Suburban was, and I was rather fond of the color, and the truck!

There is no one Sea Foam green per say. It runs in shades from a light mint green to a darker shade close to a Teal Green. I have even seen some that look more like an olive and some that appear to be a green-blue yet still called Sea Foam green.

My 2003 Accent has what I call a "Seafoam Green" on it and I really like it.I will say one different, but very pretty color to me is the '57 Chevy dark "Teal"!
You don't see it on very many cars so it really stands out. The full custom '57 Chevy called "CheZoom" was painted with it. pdq67 |

Studebaker had a few Seafoam Greens. You might also try Guitar Reranch - Fender had a Seafoam Green for their Stratocasters. The Lark here is shown in differnt light - sometimes it looks almost blue.

I saw a great seafoam color on what looked like a new Ford F-150 the other day. I'm planning to go with a nice seafoam/minty green on my '58. That's probably why I noticed it.

Take a look at '53-'57 Ford pick ups, the build tag on my '54 spells out "Sea Foam Green" as original. The above points up just why it's important to select a colour by its' code & not its' name. Do you have any friends who can photoshop it with various colors?
Personally, I think a nice dark jade green would go better with that gold top.

I painted our '51 gold - it's a little more on the yellow shade than yours (yours appears to be a little more on the brown side) with emerald green flames. Take a look in my photo album - it might help you decide if you'd want to go with the darker green.

Don't and I repeat don't pick a color off of a color chip or a photo. I guarantee it won't be what you want when you spray it on the car. Find a similar car to yours with the stock color you like then paint a panel and live with it for a while.

My ride is seafoam green- '53 Ford. I really don't think it will look good with that roof color. A darker green, maybe a forest-type green, would look great.

Gold roof with "Sea Foam Green "? I 'm not too sure on that one. I would rethink that and consider black or a dark dramatic color to compliment the Gold flake. Just my op.

This is an old Fender guitar paint chart I liberated from another site. As you may or may not know, Fender used popular automobile colors of the day for their guitars.

My first car was a 54 Ford 2 door Customline in Seafoam Green. A tutchup can so labeled lived on the railing by our attic steps for at least 20 years after the car was junked.

The Seafoam Green that Fender used (the ONLY seafoam green, IMO) was Dupont # Duco 2253 and was for 56 Buicks.

Then I thought of a white sander sealer. 50s cutoms where driven in white primer in the old days. From there I started thinking a real light shade of seafoam might look okay. I know a green would look good. I don't really want a modern lime type green. It would have to be medium to dark green. Should it be metallic?

Like so many others, I believe the "original" Sea Foam green was a '50's Ford color. It was original in my '51.

Totally agree with that. In the 90s, I got some paint for my dad to help with his Falcon restoration. It was an 80s Mercedes Benz "Sea Foam green". Looked NOTHING like any of the colors pictured here, but it was the closest we ever found to the original Falcon color (which was some other Ford shade...)
