I was lucky enough to be able to set up next to Mr Dwayne Vance at the Santa Maria show one year and you could not ask to meet a nicer guy. Always nice to the customers asking about the art that was on display and very cool to me as well.
His book - THe Masters of Chicken Scratch is a WAY cool book that features art by a LOT of different artists from around the world.

Here is a link to the site where you can get the book.

Here is a video link that shows a bit of the video that comes WITH the book:

Here is a link to a quick video that some of his art:

Here is some more info about him from his site:

He now has his own company "Future Elements" - High energy art and design- and is in demand for companies such as Mattel’s Hot Wheels and Batman properties, Hasbro’s Transformers, Texaco, Oakley, Warner Bros, Mazda, Chumba racing, Upper Deck, RC2 Full Throttle, Blackstar Paintball, Troy Lee Designs, Azteq motorsports and a few others.

Dwayne’s skill as a designer is deeply rooted in his love for automotive art. His Hot Wheels design drawings have been widely published in die cast car magazines and books "How to draw Hot Wheels the Hot Wheels Way" and "35 years of Hot Wheels". His art work is also featured at the Peterson Automobile Museum in Los Angeles, California, in the Museum’s Hot Wheels collection. In a new venture, Dwayne launched a new website called Octane456.com and features an inside look at the design and fabrication side of Hot Rods and Muscle cars. He will also launched a series of his own prints and artwork based on Hot Rod and Muscle car art that are created in mixed media.

Dwayne Vance has a Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Design from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. His hobbies include spending time with his wife and three children, restoring his 1967 Pontiac Bonneville and riding his mountain bike

    INFO ABOUT THE AUCTION:
Not sure the HAMB knows what we put together for the Vintage Torque Fest. Jimmy Flintstone contributed helmets to the art show and these were sent out to the artists that agreed to help out back in October. The artists were asked to contribute whatever concept they wanted to the helmets. Almost all of the artists have agreed to contribute the proceeds from the auction to www.helpinghannahsheart.org

This is a medical expense trust set up to help pay the many medical expenses that have accumulated over the past 4 years.

For those that dont know, our baby has had different procedures throughout her 4 year life including open heart surgery. She will have to have more open heart surgery again in about 5 years. The doctors have to be paid in order to keep on doing more surgery.
I will get more details as people want to know them.
Visit www.helpinghannahsheart.org for details on what she has gone through.

These helmets are a direct cast off an original German M40 WWII helmet and will fit with the proper lining installed. These helmets are NOT DOT approved so dont think you can wear this out on the street with your motorcycle.

These helmets cost $40 with nothing on them - just the normal resin.
Add the cost of the time and energy and paint that was contributed by each artist and you see that the helmets SHOULD go for over $100.
The helmets that were auctioned off at the show went for about $150 - $200. But we did not have enough time to auction off ALL the helmets....so Ryan has agreed to auction them here on the HAMB and he has been very gracious in stating that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to www.helpinghannahsheart.org

Thanks for looking and we hope that you will continue to support the cause.

    I dont know!
That is why I hope to get Dwayne on here to comment on the work he did.......
I will try contacting him and either put the email that he sends me on here or just have him tell everyone what he did on his own.

This was all done in pencil, marker and Kyrlon. After I finished the image I put a satin clear cote on it to seal the drawings. If you have any other questions let me know. I think I might even have some progress shots.

Thanks for the update Dwayne..........I knew there had to be some sort of seal on there cause it is a really smooth helmet - but I guess you had to do that all in one shot huh?

    Impressive

Anyway - we will end this auction on Oct 5th at 9pm CST

Thanks for the bidding and hope everyone appreciates the hard work that went into this one.
