How's the little munchkin doing? Hope she is feeling better, and you can go get your trucks soon.
We are all curious how the trucks look when you get them home.

Thanks fellas. I appreciate the kind words - it's been kind of a struggle to get even this far with it. Just concentrating on enjoying it for a bit now before I do anything else.

LT, Awesome truck. I love the stance.

I was wondering what you did to accomplish this on the front axle? (i.e., Does it still have solid axle?)

Oh yeah, none of that 'IFS' mumbo-jumbo modern stuff here (it's a drop tube from CPP, supposed to fit a later model, so I had to play around with the steering arms and drag link a little. You can read more in my build thread - follow the link in my sig). Glad you like it!

found what i think is a vin plate on one of the trucks. all i can read on it are the indented numbers. one truck i guess is a 46 cause it has 46 indented by itself but the other number is the vin i am guessing. 8CK05 is all i can see. its at the bottom of the plate. any guesses. all i have is my cellphone camera and it doesnt show up clear. if you look at the second pic, you can see the plate just above fender. i will add the pic to my profile later today. any help i can get to locate another vin on that one or the other?

If you pull up the LMC truck catalog online and those model trucks...they give breakdowns of what the VIN# means in the first few pages if that helps you out at all. They give the year, plant, month and number of production.

LT, that is one of the nicest looking 6's I have ever seen......CLEAN, and I like the Harley horn. I thought I was the only one who uses motorcycle parts on his cars and trucks.

Nice truck,, most of the 40 design is shared by the 41-46..
I think the only differences are in the front grill
You could start your own thread too,
maybe see how many other 40's are out there,
you might be surprised

Yes this '46 was pure fun to drive, twice to Tulsa, once to Memphis and all over Indiana!
