This is the early series '47 that my dad taught me how to drive in. It's been gone for many years now, though.

Here's my '46. Sorry for the photo quality. It's raining outside and I don't want to take it out to get a better picture. The truck has been in my family since 1949. I've talked many times to the man who bought it new, and he is still around. My father bought it from the original owner. I drove the pickup with its top-shifter three-speed and 216 when I was a teenager and dreamed of hotrodding it. My dad beat me to it about 15 years ago, after it had sat unused in his pasture for I can't remember how long. It was originally all black, but is now dark blue metallic and light blue metallic. SBC, TH350, AMC Pacer front cross member with power rack and pinion and power disc brakes. Rear end is from an AMC Concorde. Still has the original seat, so the ergonomics aren't the best, but it rides and drives very well. Actually, the title is still in my dad's name, but when he finished the rebuild, he parked it in his pasture again and would not drive it. I've got space for it, so I maintain it and insure it and drive it. It's a little rough around the edges in some ways, but it's solid as a rock and has never had a rust hole in its life.

ID:	1102524I have a couple of 41-46 Chevy trucks to share. I've put both trucks on Isuzu Frames, 350 small blocks, and TH350 transmissions. I still use the Isuzu rearends and drive shafts modified with TH350 yoke up front. Why Isuzu you ask, FREE is the word, and they fit these old trucks without modification to the bodies.

I like that blue/black truck with the white walls that's kind of the style I'd go for except it'll be low and probably chop the top about 3''
