Well over 7,000 miles into my trip in the van and the pinion shaft let go today around Chicago, but luckily I was only 40 miles away from a great Corvair shop. They pulled everything out, and got me back on the road in time to make my photoshoot in the a.m.

I also got to finish up some pics

Family Portrait for Jake, and his daughter Kylie

    Kylie is a racecar driver

  18. Finally something to contribute. While the frame is not anything unique, the headbadge is very cool and pictures a Miller Indy Car from the 30's or 40's. I added a front fender from an early 30's women's Columbia to the rear. It was repainted in a weird paint scheme and I was on the fence whether to strip it or keep it. After many different fender combinations I decided to leave it as it added to the "Hot Rod" theme. The front fender is also from a Columbia but from a later 30's women's bike as well. It is peaked and duck tailed - weird combo to have both. Seat post is a BMX bike post I had lying around. Seat is a Messinger B-1 Long Spring. Struts are are from a late 30's Elgin. I had to finesse these a little to work as they were bent pretty good to start with and the head tube length was off about an inch. Columbia coffin sprocket on a dog leg crank turn the Chrome Triple steps tied to ND D and W hubs with stainless spokes. All wrapped with Felt Quick Brick brown 'n whites. Wald Super wide Apes and ancient Coke bottle grips I think I got from Dingo. An NOS Vintage Miller lamp up front provides a beam. Enjoy the pics!

Something I did awhile ago. Spun gold leaf flames. Shots taken before clear coat and red pinstriping.

I have to ask myself why I am up at this hour. At least I am not wasting my time and sitting here getting off on all the cool stuff posted so far. Great work everyone.

Brett...nice lines on the striping piece.
Po'boy... That gold leaf on that tank is killer, can't wait to see it finished with the red around them!
