Some shots from the York Nostalgia model display yesterday, presented by the Central Pa. Model Car Club. More here: http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model_car_shows_/york-nostalgia-mode-1/
It really is Super Model Car Sunday, isn't it? I'm uploading some shots from the SMCS model car show in Perth today at the moment...
Hopefully you guys don't mind my model articles. This week, I did one about 1960 dealer promos. I know no one built them, but not everyone gets a chance to see all these different old models from the same year in one place, so that's something, right?
Here's a few shots from the show I was at today... Photos from Super Model Car Sunday in Perth, Western Australia
I have no problem with these posts . As long as they relate to the H.A.M.B. And these do. I'd love to have one of those wagons.
Great display! It would be nice if they would retool a few of the old 60's AMT pickups. They were almost like promo's.
Need to find someone to make me a model of my Dads old 65 GTO dirt track race car, have a few picts to go by.
Thanks, guys! I really need to work on a new model here sometime, though! Of course, looking at some of the stuff on here makes me think maybe I should just stick to the promos!
Here's an update on the '61. Several more pictures will be posted on the H.A.M.B. Plastic Model Builders group forum: The process seems to follow the deterioration that befalls a real car over time...
great stuff this week. thanks Lyle for kickin it off with some cool builds. Jigger, thats really looking the part now.
There's an easily found '65 GTO kit that AMT originally did back in '65 that's been re-issued numerous times over the years (once as a "Modified Stocker" short track car). The starting point is easy to find, so all you need is a builder. Personally, I'd love to see the pics..... they might give me inspiration to do a build of the car, though I'm so doggone busy I wouldn't feel right about trying to build for someone else (the last time I did that, it took me almost two years to do it.... and I was a lot younger!). Why don't you post the pics here or on the "Historic Stock Car Photos" thread?
