yes its a seamless 56 frame.....AND ITS MY FRAME AND MY CAR!! for the price i got this frame (payed $150 yes i couldnt believe it either) with tubular and disc brakes I want you to go find me the updates you say i could have done for the same price of $150 let me know when you find them please..... If you would know engineering you would see that the fence pole was just a temporary poor mans brace while the swap was getting done. if you dont like my t-post be a pal send me some money to buy more steel..... |

I kinda hafta agree with the guy about the one piece frame, BUT, there are so many people making aftermarket frames out there, and there are so many stock frames that are going to the scrap metal grave sites, I think you did a service using the '56 frame where there was a need. (I'm a '56 Chevy owner and it did not hurt my feelings for you to use that frame.)
i just thought of something else, the guy you got the frame from had ALLREADY MOD'd it with the bags, if I remember correctly the spring pockets have to be opened up to fit the bags..... Last edited by classic gary; 04-30-2011 at 10:53 AM. Reason: just because |

Sounds like "custom" to me! If it works, It oughta be great. That fence post is just a temporary "spreader" right?

Looks good to me. The only problem I see is the scrub line violation, allowing the frame to contact the ground. I would suggest you reconsider this and put in some hard stops so if you lose air on the road your frame or body does NOT contact the ground. It will get real exciting really fast. Leaving a 1/2 nch of clearance to the ground would keep an inconvience from turning into a disaster. (I'd leave more than an inch if it were me). If you really need to set it on the frame at a show make the stops removable. But put them back in when you are on the road.

I was totally surprised at the outcome- that's really great and it looks amazing. However, I stand by the idea that frame swaps are rarely a good idea. This is just one of those rare moments.
See.. the majority of people who frame or clip their cars don't really know how much work is involved, get in over their heads and fail. miserably. So- that's certainly not a project I would have tackled personally... but then again, I'm a hack
