if not, you should go. my pops and i set out yesterday at 7:00 to pick up my 33 ford cab i bought from bob.
![]() we loaded the cab and went with bob to lunch. (authors note: bob didn't tell me i needed my camera for this trip to lunch. before arriving at our lunch destination, bob proceeded to show us all the cars around town. folks, hot rodding is alive and well in wellington, texas!! he showed us buildings which housed 34 vicky's, 55 chevy's, mopars, mercs, buckethead's awesome modified!! you guys should see this thing!! the frame work is awesome!! another building housed a ultra nice 34 5 window that was pulled from the frame in the 60's and was nice enough to bolt back down and go!! we were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of cars. and just when you thought it might be over, we got to see bob's personal collection. UNBELIEVABLE!! his coupe, an awesome 50 merc he's putting together, an ultra clean 34 ford p/u that was stored in a barn since 76. no rust, dents, nuthin'! an amazing toy collection, bike collection, memoribilia,etc.. (note to self..take camera next time to bob's place) after scarfing down lunch, we returned to the yard. we were provided with the owens salvage courtesy car, a 95/6 explorer with leather, power windows, locks, and told to have a good time. folks, i took 50 pics yesterday, but this isn't even a scratch of what is there. if you get a chance, load up, take your club members, and GO!! enjoy............ ![]() ![]()

Why yes,
I have been there a few times. I received the tour also, completely amazing how many cool cars and other associated goodies there are hiding in that town. That Bob is one sexy bitch too. Did he buy your lunch for ya?

I know that man!!! and I thank him again. With what little time I have anymore, I pretty much owe him for having a ride at all. And today I got to paint a little. Had to get rid of that f'n yellow. Wanted black on the lower but...should have got it yesterday. Settled for dark grey. So I'll paint it again.
![]() Now I can start the body work and touch up as I go. |

Why, Yes! I have been to Wellington.
And got the tour of Wellington Hotrod History, got invited to stay all night with Bob and his very Gracious wife, AND sleep in the Norm Grobrowski Perosnal Suite. Before bedding down and getting the Wellington tour, Bob took our party to Childress(got to go to Childress) for the Childress Musuem of Automotive History. All kidding aside, you folks that have never been to Flattops place can not imagine what treasures abound in Wellington, Tx. By the way, those are great photos. Thank you for sharing. Jim |

Bob and Wellington are a great visit, and he has been a BIG help to me getting Slick put together. My son and I are planning a trip back up the week before or after Round-up, for some more goodies.
Makes for a great day! A day of old iron and a tummy full of Piggy burgers. Dosen't get any better than that!
