I needed a better place for my sand bag and hammers. So here is my project from this weekend. 1. Find any car mag lying around in your house and cut out the Harbor freight 20% off coupon 2. Go to HF and purchase the bench grinder stand (Item number 03184) its about 22 bucks with the coupon 3. Go to your scrap metal bin and find all the left over pieces of 1 1/2" pipe from making your exhaust 4. Cut and de-burr 23 1 inch lengths of left over exhaust pipe 5. Use an old bike wheel as a template to get the correct arc and weld all the bits of pipe together 5. cut 3 3" lengths of 1" x 1" steel tube 7. weld on the ends and the middle 3 bits of one inch tubing and after grinding off the paint on the stand weld to the stand. Check form fit and function with your hammer collection. 8. Take 2 15" x 15" pieces of 3/4" MDF and in the center of one piece cut a 4.25" hole for a tuck puck. Keep the center piece for when your useing a sand bag. 9. glue and clamp the 2 pieces with wood glue and allow to dry over night 10. Cut out a 15 inch circle from the 2 glued pieces 11. Screw the wood top too the stand paint with some rattle cans 12. Go beat some metal here is a patch panel i made for my 27
