It's not your typical cruise-in with 40 or 50 cars and Doo-wop music. I think there was about 3 blocks of cars, then a block of food vendors...and about three more blocks of cars. Amongst all this was several live bands. It's well worth the trip if you've been thinking about it. More then one place will be happy to serve you a beer.
I had called about this car about 6 weeks ago when it was still owned by the man who had inherited it from the original owner...I knew I wanted it but I needed a couple days to gather up the cash....The car sold right before I got ready to go get it. The new owner wants 50% more for it then I could have bought it for! Oh well...There'll be another turn up sooner or later.
This event is more than just a show.First Friday of every month and the whole town turns out for the carnival atmosphere. The Gadsden area has always been full of car crazy guys and they make a good show of it.If you are anywhere nearby next month you definitely need to drop by.The entire downtown area is full of old cars and "stuff".
Gotta go.....I've been twice and I'm going back. Not only does Alabama have some of the nicest cars anywhere but their ladies are HOT too....
Looks like there was a good turnout and some very fine cars were being shown. Thanks for the coverage. Frank
It's coming up again this Friday. I'll be there weather I'm driving or riding with somebody else! Hope to see some of you guys down there!
If I was so damn scared that I felt like I had to put four "do not touch" signs on just one side of my car...I'd probably just stay home. Highlander!
i went to this fri nite, bet there was over 500 cars.7 blocks long 4 wide full lenght plus parking lots/side streets.this is more like a carnival atmosphere.and some fine looking young ladies there also.great cruise in.i'll be back.also a little black 32 roadster with the sweetest sounding flathead i have ever heard
Nevermind --- It's the first Friday of every month. Shoulda surfed first to find out. I'll definitely by there next month.
Me and my wife road out from the ham for date night ......she had a good time the cars and town where great..we will be there next month..
This gathering is getting bigger and better each month. They are considering opening up one of the adjacent streets to accommodate more cars if needed. There are food vendors set up along with several of the better restaurants and clubs being located in the downtown area. This is a year round monthly event but October has been the last good turnout and is picks back up in March or April. "ACEUH" Sorry about my wife walking into your photo and thanks for including the photos of the roadsters in your coverage.
No problem bro....I don't think she hurt the quality of the photo one bit! I always see a few cars with HAMB stickers, and a few club plaques I recognize when I'm at this (and other) event(s).... I always feel like I'm intruding if I just walk up in to a group to introduce myself....usually beer helps that....or makes it worse....I'm not sure?? Looking forward to next month guys!
