Well, I stopped by the Austin Speed Shop Last week to see some of the guys and to check on The Merc Truck (getting some new Porter Mufflers put on http://www.portermufflers.com/ ) The truck wasn't ready; but Joyo and the guys invited me to stick around until they closed so that we could all go grab a bite after...

About an hour or two in, I decided to grab my camera and snap off a couple shots... no special lighting, and no set-up... just let loose in the garage, to see what I could find. For me, it was purely religious. I think that I witnessed Salvation through the Hot Rod Gospel; as preached at the Austin Speed Shop...

Great photos!!! What setup are you using as far as cameras go? Everything looks great.

I have that same Consew machine, now if I could only learn how to use it.

I stopped by a couple of weeks ago to check the shop out and was sorry I had forgotten my camera. Thanks for the memories. Yes, the shop is every man's dream. My wife fell in love with the '46 tudor that was sitting out front that day. Nothin' like mama lovin' a hotrod. Great to talk with Mike and see all the guys working on different projects throughout the shop. God Bless you all.....:)

The camera used is a Nikon D700. The lens used is a Nikon 50mm 1:1.8D.

JJ~ as for the Consew Machine, I would suggest removing the old school (or 3/4 hp) motor and getting a Servo Motor put on under the table.
Here's a link to my Sewing Machine Salesman's website motor page: http://www.southwestsewingmachines.com/category.aspx,,categoryID,,225
the zt400 is what I use. It gives you a variable speed control and set the speed throughout the entire pedal (slight or full throtle). Which, at the begining stages of learning is extremely helpful. I have 2 Servo motors and swear by them. Most importantly, Torque remains high even at slow speeds. (or try changing the pullies on the motor you have, but this still leaves you at a relatively high speed potential if you screw up on the pedaling.
Good Luck. PM me for any questions.
