THANKS for sharing it. RE the Gran Tourismo above, would they have been running the B-W 4-speed
or the auto? I assume the standard, and maybe it, or the clutch, broke. I do wish that more people
knew that there was nothing wrong with Studebakers at all. The company never did handle its capital
well, so as time went on it got harder and harder to keep unit costs competitive with the Big 3.
I got this from the The "Shell 4000 and BC Trans-Canada Rally History Project" ( www.shell-4000-rally.org/)
Neither the results list nor the picture mention drive train. My guess is a T-10 four speed which was a factory option was used, but it is only a guess.
Studebaker's problems for the most part did indeed center around poor management which left little cash for R&D. Of course no independents competed well against the Big Three.

I thought you meant you bled on it when it gave you a splinter...

The Swedish pictures have been surprising - I never thought Sweden would remind me of Cuba! The Opel Admiral above was at one time under serious consideration by GM to be rebadged as a baby Cadillac, but they built the Seville instead.

Okey-dokey! Thanks, everybody. I've been wondering since 1990 what Fahrvergnügen was and why I should have bought a VW. Now, I have some clues. Before, I always thought it meant fart-head.

But, hell, there are worse things you can be called when somebody flips you the bird on the thoroughfare, right?

This is an old fire truck from Sweden, made on an 1959 Chevrolet 4400, most of the fire trucks here got a special made body like this, this body on the picture most likely have a wooden frame with aluminum outside.

This truck still exist, and have had five owners since it was new, but have now been of the road since 1990 according to the Swedish DMV.

This made my night as I sit here at work! I am just immature enough to laugh like a dumbass at the name of that magazine. I looked up a translator online and yes FART is Swedish is Speed! LOL

Just kiddin': "fart" is swedish for "speed".

That's a neat bus. It looks tight, but I love the layout of everything. Be awesome to own one now-a-days.
