I recieved this photo in my email this morning and i just had to pass it along.

I've been contact with the family of the man in this photo because he sold our car when it was new in 1950 and then took posession of it in 1965 when it was traded into his dealership. This is Jerry Smith of Kansas City, MO. He owned Jerry Smith's Crosstown Motors on Troost Ave. His dealership was a Chrysler-Plymouth dealership until the spring of 1950 when he changed over to Buick. Our car was sold in December 1950 so the family claims that our car was likely one of the last chrysler's he ever sold. They said he rarely kept cars unless they were favorites. He kept our car in his personal collection until 1982/1983 when he sold her to a gentleman here in CT. We bought the car in original paint and condition in 2010. This is Jerry Smith and his shop truck. Jerry owned the worlds largest antique toy and colectible collection in the world; now owned by Hallmark. Jerry died in 1984.

They are going to dig up more photos and try to send them to me. if they do; i'll be sure to share.

Thanks; we've always wondered the same thing. its amazing what a google search will come up with if you have owner's names. The original purchaser of the car was an older lady by the name of Mrs. Claudine Boyle. She was a widow who's husband had died in a plane crash on his way back from corpus christi texas on a fishing trip with his freinds several years earlier. he was the president of the Kansas City Bar Association and he was a well-to-do lawyer. She traded in a Roadmaster for this car. According to US Census Records she was in her 70's in 1965 when the car was traded in. Imnot sure when she passed away either. Would like to find out some family history of the car. She owner it for 15 years and we purchased it in 2010 with 21K orig miles on it. Makes you realize how much she actually drove the car in those 15 years

The caption says used car lot, but I am betting this is part of a new car lot with '42 Mercury's and Ford Trucks.
