Bugatti & Bugatti 110P racing airplane, which I understand never flew. Wikipedia has the whole Bugatti story.

There is a fella near Tulsa making one from scratch he intends to fly.
Bugatti Project Bugatti 100P

And another at the EAA at Oshkosh, WI
This Bugatti Intends to Fly!

Hopfrog, I'm sure everybody knows you meant well. But the whole thread has been about showing and discussing VINTAGE photos of vintage subjects. You've shown virtually NEW pix of vintage subjects.

No offense but, IMO, you should DELETE both of those posts. Given your obvious interest level, you'll locate something truly VINTAGE quickly, suitable to post. Thanks, bro.

Guys, gals, regulars and casual visitors: We've never (in my old memory anyway) defined at least a general, rough "cutoff" for what constitutes VINTAGE. (There seems to be no EARLY limit whatsoever, so that's no problem.)

Just thinking out loud here, how about we all treat CIRCA 1980 as the latest? Not chissled in stone, just a general timeframe -- "1980, give or take a little." That would make posted pix some 30 years old, at least.

Any thoughts -- or other suggestions?

I dunno, mixing shots taken using current materials is O K with me as long as it pertains to a vintage subject . scrubba

Agree, but they're still some great pics. Recommend the newer photos & related stuff be posted onto the "Cool Pictures..." thread - here's the link: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=425951 There's tons of good stuff on that thread as well!

I saw this one awhile back, can't recollect just where it was posted. Apparently early 50s.

The look on her face is just plain nightmarish!

This particular photo is from the 1962 Winternationals. In the near lane is Dick Taylor's 57 fuelie that was dyno tuned by Nicholson. In the far lane is Rich Siroonian in Mazmanian's 61 Vette. Mazmanian ran the car in CM/Sp at the 62 Wintenats although later ran it in BM/Sp at a number of venues. Siroonian went on to win this race as well as CM/Sp on that day.-Jim

Thanks for the clarification. I knew someone would know the correct details. Sorry for the small pics, I tried blowing some of them up but they just look too grainy if you get too big. I'll try to pick some better ones, I wished mine looked as good as some of the others.
