I respect your opinion:: The Ala Kart was originally built in 1957 by one of the countries premier builders and still gets a lot of respect in the hot rod community. Do you think this custom a will stand the test of time or simply fade away in the next in 53 years. Just wondering.................................

I was into Cars when the Ali Cart first came out. Exposed coil springs hanging out front, headlights that looked like Frog Eyes on a Ghost. Pin stripes on the hood sides that went off course over the lights, and those fenders, what were they thinking? I felt they had totally Screwed up a Roadster Pickup. It finally grew on me over the years enough to be acceptable, maybe that Red/Orange, silver thing with a Shotgun for an air cleaner will do the same for you. Personally I think it will be around for a while. It too is growing on me but just a little. Some time it takes a while for Far Out to catch on.

I would be happy to be the judge of that in 53 years, Unfortunatly at my age its impossible. I have always thought the Ala Kart was cutting edge, did you know those exposed coil springs hanging out front had air bags inside? I built the AMT model in the 60's and still have 2 on my shelf. There seems to be a large following for 50-60's show style show rods, and I think that the traditional show cars will always be a very popular draw at nearly any get togeather. The current trend of traditional shows welcome the old school customs. This newer rendition of show rods, not so much!

I did know there are Air Bags in the coils. My opinyon hasn't changed yet since the first time I saw them on the Ali Cart. I guess some things just never change. I'm not into trendy vehicles and never have been. I do tend to find something I like in just about every hands on vehicle. I also have a healthy sense of Humor and understand we all see things just a little different than the other Guy (that only took about 60 years). To show that Humor side of me here is a photo of one of my Model A's. I put it together with a little help from some friends out of nothing but un-used parts laying around. It was done just to have something to drive on the Salt this past year at B-Ville.

It was built about 40 yrs ago by an aircraft mechanic/fabricator. Lots of neat touches throughout. Mid 60's Vette 327/solids/Muncie/Ansen 2 pc scattershiled/Hurst Airhearts.............
