I will preface this thread with the following statement:
I am not of sound mind. Now that I've got that out of the way.......I have found a new use for the Chuckles Sedan's old motor. I'm going to put it in my 1962 Falcon. I am going to make this as period perfect as I possibly can. This will be a REAL Gasser built to the 1965 NHRA rule book.
It will be called the STRANGE BIRD! Take the time and look through the thread, skipping to the end is for suckers. ![]() ![]() Part 2 of this thread is continued here: PART TWO.....Gasser Gasser Gasser!! The Adventures of the "Strange Bird" Blown Nailhead Falcon.

Wasn't the nailhead obsolete as a racing engine by 62?

It was produced from 57-66 so I'd say NO to that one.
But I also can't imagine anyone would have done this. Big FE motor, Yes, but a Nailhead, not bloody likely

I'm not looking to be talked out of using the combo together. It works for me. It should generate alot of double takes when people walk by it for sure. |

While the Buick is neat, I would have to agree with 64 Cyclone. A 406 would be perfect and would flat fly! I don't recall seeing to many (if any) gassers at the time with 6-2's but why not. From my recollection, most were injected or blown, some had dual-fours.
