I dont know why I decided to fall in love with this truck. Not the most popular to customize, but I went at it. With the help of Al at Hooligan Hot Rods

boxed and shortened the frame 6 inches and notched it a bunch
Rear end is a 14 bolt late model GM with 3.73 Posi
    Triangulated 4 link with shockwaves
Mustang 2 from fat man with shockwaves
    Chopped 4"
    6.0 LS and 4l60e trans

We are in progress and hope to have it on the road this summer. Thought you'd like to see the progress. Here's a few pics

Running boards should be 1 inch off the ground with all the air out of the bags on a 29" tall tire. The notches have enough room to accomodate a good bumpstop to eliminate that lovely metal on metal feeling!

Here are some new pics. Time to start cracking on this. I want to drive it to leadsleds this summer.
engine and trans are mounted now. front end is in and ready with exception of calipers. Rear end is in and waiting for the bag mounts.

I know some are not into the airride but i have had it on 2 other vehicles and i really like it. Plus I want this to lay frame so its necessary.

Should have wheels and tires ready to stick on next week.

Sorry these are a bit blurry. trying to wrangle a 2 yr old and take a picture is tough

Looks Gewd:D Subtle chop works for the proportions of the truck IE fenders are big ect you know what I mean. Not too much not too little. Keep it up Homes!

it didnt have any guts. the frame was there but the crank and mechanism were missing. It would be cool if I could make it work as a crank out with the chop. Is that workable?

We will have to get it mocked back up as we didn't consider that measurement before we started taking it apart. Anyone know about this one? It seems low

there's a 41 in the northwest that sectioned the hood and raised the fenders. This will allow the front end hit at the same time as the running boards. I believe he took out the two middle bars in the vertical part of the grill. Don't know who's truck it was and i'm scrambling to find a picture. Kool Idea though!

That is the truck that actually inspired my build. I love it except for one thing. the section makes the hood look super long and flat. Im now leaning towards not going with the section.
we will just have to see how it goes. I prefer the taildragger look so if the nose is up a bit it wont hurt my feelings.

Another new development in the plan is the shockwaves on the rear. To save a few bucks on something no one will see we are going with standard bags and shocks. also set a mustang fuel tank between the rails today to see if we liked it. I do. will be nice to save the room in the bed. Thanks guys for the input. like hearing everyones point of view

Ok I finally got some rollers on this thing. I havent made a ton of progress on this lately. So not much new to show. Got back from the GNRS and if I only had enough money to match my feelings of inspiration.

Anyway I picked up some front tires. A great friend, McPhail, donated some wheels to the cause and here it sits.

Let me know what ya think.

Anyone seen shirts on a 41-46? I mean skirts.

hoping to drive it to salina. Might not be a real reasonable goal right now. We will see. the whole late model engine set up puts a little more strain on the pocketbook. If it does make Salina it wont be painted

MACK...you have my admiration, and that old 46 look's great, well it will in time. but raising the engine flag may not get you many salutes. i personaly don't mind the late model mill, but i understand what may be an issue. for my part i WELCOME you to H.A.M.B. and good luck with your FANTASTIC build...POP.

Well I know not everyone is into the LS engine thing. Im not really " IN TO IT" either. Its just what happend on this truck. In fact I dont think its worth the headache, and my next project wont have one.

Ive invested too much in it to turn back now. It sure beats an old 216.

Not much of an update but progress is progress. The floor is pretty much in. Firewall is all cut out and replaced with a nice smooth piece of 12g.

I found some unconventional seats to put in there. VW low backs from a 67 or somewhere around there. They look good in there and put me at just the right ride height. I will get them all recovered and looking sharp in time.

Pretty exciting to put a seat in there and actually get to sit in the truck and get a feel for it.

May be changing my mind on the seats. We are going to wait and see how things are lining up once the column is in and stuff. Got the shifter in and the floor finished. Looks good! I will post some pics later.

Right now the rear Suspension is done and the bed is getting mocked up. We have to shorten it 6 inches and make a few changes here and there. I will post some pics of all the latest stuff soon.

Thanks for the kind words and hopefully we will have an awesome truck pretty soon
