My father-in-law Larry Petit

So I just married a beautful woman and wanted to share some pretty cool documents and pictures I discovered. So my wife has always told me about her dad being big into drag racing and spending many of days at the tracks and I knew about him having the 200 mph jacket (but never bragged) and just hearing all of these crazy drag racing stories. He is one of those story tellers who will tell you the history of the person when he mentions someone. For example if he mentions a person in the story he will state their FULL name, how they made their living, the reason people liked them and the reason why everyone thought they were an asshole. Its hilarios if you get my drift. So we went to go visit him in Mogadore, OH, where my wife is from, and we started talking cars again. He has had over 200 cars and will tell you the specs on every single of them. Trust me Ive heard it all at least 3 times. Anyway he told me he had a few pictures of the old days and this is what I found. Holy moses what I found gave me goose bumps. I know Mr. Larry was cool and all but he was in the true days of drag racing. Living on winnigns alone and spending every songle dollar to the car. Well apparently he was good enough to be back up drivers for other peoples car. Thats cool. So check out some of the info he gave me. Some were wally cool photos. He thinks he has more so Ill check it out but his son, my wifes brother also had a shop in Akron, Oh, the economy shiut him down, has 2 twin daughters named Shelby and Saleen. Think they may be Ford folks? Anyway if anyone knows of Larry Petit or knows stories please say something. He remembers every damn thing in his life so maybe someone has talked or raced against him. He also said that the day NHRA mandated the Reverese in their cars he couldnt afford it anymore...

So other than giving me one beautfiul wife he gave me some sweet photos. Hope you enjoy them and if there is any information you know please send them to me. I would like to brighten his day with some old stores he may remember.

So as an ending statement. He said he hated the rear engine cars. Thats pretty much was the last part of his carrer anyway with the shole reverse tranny issue. He has some really cool stories and if you mention any car from then he can state some wierd facts about the car and good chance he owned one. He went through some cars in his time. Anyway hope you enjoy them and sorry the pic are so big. I thought there was some pretty coolo stuff in there.
