Here's the 51' coupe i just started on monday for Munster here on the HAMB. I wasn't gonna post this chop but There's quite a bit of people who wanna see it, and i know it can probably help others on THEIR chop. I wanna say a HUGE thank you to BLUE COLLAR GUY for posting his, i basically followed his guide lines and I can't thank him enough for posting all the pics!! This chop is 4" in the front and 5" in the back, slanted pillars.

Monday i stripped the paint off, measured and taped it off and braced the hell out of it! The gaps on this chevy are so clean i went a little crazy on the bracing, and it's paying off, the gaps haven't changed..... So far!!

I don't have a pic but there's a relief cut on the inside at the top of the A pillar, right on the inner structure, That's how i was able to bright the 2 pieces together.

Here's pics of the Driver B pillar done and door top , i have better pics of the Passenger side HOW TO.

That's where im at right now, monday im gonna go inside and finish the inner structure and all that stuff, then move to the c pillars, then the sail panels, I don't care how long it takes me but those sail panels are gonna be round and clean, i won't settle for it's OK!! This chevy will have the top half in bare metal and the bottom painted so it's gotta be perfect!! BTW . the holes filled on the door tops.... I did not weld those, i will fix it though!!

  5. Looking good Ian. Keep the pictures coming.

One of the things I always admired about a chopped top was knowing the builder or owner had to have balls the size of watermelons to cut the top off a perfectly good car. Looks like a great job you've done so far.

Hey Guys, thanx a whole bunch, we actually had fun cutting the car up!!:D I felt bad for Munster, he had to make the first cut then go to work , so he couldn't hang out with Chris and I and enjoy the moment!!:(

Chris was awesome to work with, those motherf@#$! are becoming good friends man, Good to have buddies like that!!

YES!!! Looks GREAT!!! Proportions are dead on!!! Munster's gonna' be happy for sure!!

  25. Thanks. I think I've narrowed the hubcaps down to 1954 Olds. That wheel/tire combo, stance and chop are working overtime. The package looks perfect. Super nice.

Great looking chop with equally nice metal work.
Looking forward to seeing it all welded up..especially a profile shot.
As was mentioned, the proportions look great.
