Default Hot Rod Trading Cards

For the 2nd year, I've had the privilege of working with Speedrome (Bart) on creating some of the visuals for the Manifolds on Main car show in Irving, TX. For this year's show, Bart approached me with a really cool idea for something to add to the goodie bags to say "thanks" to those who registered for the show.

Bart took some inspiration from an old set of trading cards he had come up with, and we put our own spin on things. The biggest issue was trying to figure out a classy way to package them. We tossed around several ideas and settled on these tins.

What we did was to take ten cars that attended the first Manifolds on Main show in 2008, got some info from the respective owners of the cars, sourced some photos, and put it all together.

Bart and I are both really pleased with how they came out, and hope that those who attended the show and received the trading card collections will enjoy them!

Finally, I'd like to thank Bart for giving me to opportunity to work on this project!

It was cool to be a small part of Barts show. I was amazed at all the hours and work he put into this thing. He worked hard to make it the best it cold be. I always thought this kind of stuff just came together, boy was I wrong. Bart make sure you give your wife a big hug from me and tell her thank you for putting up with the car show stuff. You did a great job.

I just bought some vintage cards on E-bay. One of them is of Ab Jenkins and the other of Sir Malcolm Campbells Bluebird. the cards I think were issued in the 30's and came in the packaging of some English cigarettes. The whole series was called the Kings Of Speed. Some kick ass stuff on those early cards.

The cards turned out great Mike!
That and the hot rod coloring books for kids were both great ideas.
Bart works really hard to make his show special both for participants and spectators.

This show was a show that when I left I felt I really owed Bart...It was just a very pleasant day and good time...the free box of cards and shirt were the cherries on the sundae. Your team of helpers / designers were excellent as well ( I think they really brought the (Wonderland Disney land out in me).
