Hey guys got hold of this Australian 49 Poncho this weekend for $100, I know its a 4 door but its complete, pretty straight and partly restored so it should be a good start. We had a blast picking it up becuase it was completely pulled apart (we had to sort through jars of bolt to find the right ones for the rear spring shackles and doors. A carton of beers and about 4 1/2 hours we had the springs and rear end back in, as well as the motor and trans, all guard swinging and packed onto the trailer for the trip home. We had the back of the tow car full of parts as well as the inside and trunk of the Ponti. There was about $500 worth of new chrome for the dash and the trunk the old guy had in a draw in his shed. The old flat 6 should even start as well with a little love. Can't wait to finish my pickup then get stuck into this. If you have any pics of these Pontiac's please post for some inspiration.
Nice to have a project that you can get your money back by selling just one part off it. Besides, when it's done you and 3 friends can cruise in comfort and the guys in the back seat won't have to learn Yoga to get in and out. Win/win. Frank
I came up on a similar score a few months back...it was rust free too and the guy was going to crush it.
I have a 50 and I gave alot more than a hundred....man I'd like to have a righ hander to cruise in..I could be a mailman ..
I gave photo shop a workout last night and this is what I am going for nice subtle chop and drop I even don't mind the color. Not sure on wheels and caps yet but I'll keep you guys posted when I start on it.
Who cares if thats a 4 door, thats a bad ass car man! Great score. Thats sick. Congrats That will make a cool cruiser
