Event Coverage 2009 Ducknic (Pops Benifit)

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, so if it isn't ....sorry Ryan! LOL

Every year the hosebags on my forum get together and have a Hot Rod picnic type of thing. This year one of our members has come down with a cancer battle and we are going to attempt to raise a few bucks (selling lunch) to help out with his medical expenses. You know this guy for he is a member here on the HAMB as well. Pops (Jim Markley) is the man and he is a great guy that can use a little help. Much thanks to Ryan for already stepping up to the plate and helping Jim out on multiple levels.

The event will be on Sunday, Oct. 4th from Noon to 4pm at the NutHouse off Rt.66 on your way to Claremore, OK. No awards, no door prizes, no bullshit. Just a bunch of gear-heads raising some coin for a guy down on his luck. There is plenty of room to park trucks with trailers if you have a non-streetable car.

If you think of anyone interested in coming feel free to share the flyer (see and click below) with them. This is an open gig, so it doesn't have to be traditional rides only. So if you are looknig for something to do, want to do some bench racing and check out some rides come on out.

For those who are not familiar with the area AND want to get little Route 66 history in ya to boot, "The Nut House" (aptly named for our group) is just a few miles East on 66 from the Blue Whale.

Pops passed away this morning with his family by his side and his friends in the wings.

hey Rashy... sorry to hear he's gone... words dont mean a whole lot, but you and yours are in my prayers.
