The Chase family and the Cochran family were just finishing up some Mexican food this past Saturday night when we decided that a trip to the movie theater was in order. Stuffed with Austin's best, we arrived at the theater only to find that the main ... <BR><BR>To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
That video was better than any morning coffee I've ever had.... did buzzard have that on tape? Where can i get one?
I haven't ordered it yet, but these guys seem to have it: http://www.hotrodnostalgia.com/Store/Video/miscracevid01.html
I got it on DVD, its almost worn out. I love that movie, 'Get me outta here pal!' Edit, Haha I posted befor I read your blog! It is a great line though. Canned Heat is one of the greatest white blues bands of all time, I still cant believe such a voice could come out of that bear of a guy! Doc.
"All you can do is monkey up the deal. So if you don't have any business down there, please keep your cotton pickin tails outta there..."
Thanks Ryan, watched that little clip 3 times. Need to see the whole thing. It's fun contrasting then and now and seeing how we have "progressed".
I've always kinda thought of that movie as the coolest parts from TLB, AG, Hot Rod etc. all rolled into one. Except this one is the real deal. No actors or scripts, just racers and race cars. I'm glad I could be the one to show it to you. I think it was the very first time that I hd Blake, DW, and Nick over to our new house, I made them watch it too.
NUTS! please keep your cotton pickin tails outta there…boy to get out of that crash with the dragster on fire in your face and breaking up right at your lap. Oh Brother!
Rick Stewart is one of the best guys you will ever meet. He runs the Starting line at ALL NHRA National events to mere perfection. If he ever looks in your window when your on the line, you know something is happening, good or bad, and you better do as he says. God I love Drag Racing.
Gives a pretty good view of Lions, for those who never ran there or saw the place. Note how he staged FAR left. That starting line groove was different every time. Great clip.
I loved "7-Second Love Affair" and it had mysteriously eluded me too 'til about two years ago when King Chassis loaned me his. It did give you a great glimpse of Lions for the unfortunate people like me that never had the chance to make that pilgrimage. Great subject filmed at a great location at a great time in history. A magic formula that they probably didn't even realize they were putting together back then. Well that does it.....I'm headed over to the DVD player after I type type this to start it up......again!
Somehow, it eluded me, too. looks fantastic! And featuring Rick Stewart, of all people! This is a must see...
Ohhh yeah. I'm telling y'all, people from that era were just cool. No pretense, just your average American mentalities... Gotta get that movie!
