Just finished up my '28 Buick. I used Rustoleum Semi-Gloss black on the fenders and running boards, once it cures out it will be about the same gloss level as the original black on the top section. The rest of the paint is original as is all the interior other than the dash and shifter.
Looks like you could use the hood if you used some remote aircleaner(s) plumbed to a box on top of the carbs. What a sleeper that would be since the car is Resto-rod style and darn nice I might add.
Very very nice. And I like the chebby engine, after all it is G.M. And kinda looks like my 28 chevy...John
nice...will the hood and sides still fit on? how much was done the put the v8 and huffer in it? like the cowl lights too.
I didn't want it too low as I drive it around the farm some and didn't want to limit where I could drive it.
Hey guys on lowering his car. here is what I found out while working on my 28 chevy. I don't know why but late 20s chevy fenders seem to sit higher over the tires than there ford bretherin. Maybe tire size was different on chevys or the suspension was softer. Any body know? but in dropping a chevy it is harder to get the tire up in the fender, like a ford can of the same year. I even went to a 32 ford style front suspension on my 28 and to Get it down like a ford, my boards would be in jeopardy over the slightest bump. If you look at his boards they are fairly low allready. Yes it could come down a little bit. But still the fender would sit up high, and show all the tire. I think it looks good...John
Not digging the wheels, especially with the stock spare on the back, looks kind of ridiculous. Maybe some more appropriate wheels and lose the stock spare. Hell I'd put a hood on it as well.
Saw one of those cowls at a swap the other day, allways liked them they have a shape like no other, cool ride.
