I'd used either straight 30 or 40 weight and non detergent oil. That way the carbon thats in there should stay there. Hope you make it to your carshow, and good luck.
Oh, Where did you get your axle?
Speedway?

Can't say my friends don't get into my projects! Neat little photo of the current and future projects to come. We are making steady progress and looking forward to lighting up the rear hides shortly.

Yea, I did the same on my 32 project. I had planned to use one of the 37 axles I had and drop it myself/ drop the spindle arms, etc. And I wimped out and went with a chassis engineering heavy 32 with a 4" drop and cut off my spindle arms and went with the speedway dropped arms. But I did keep the 37 bones and split them. Maybe on the next project.

Howdy, well after mocking up the fenders and running boards welcome to the "Munsters Coach". After careful measuring and being a life long fan of slammed cars ,this ain't gonna be one! Do i leave it as is, or i can get ahold of a 7" dropped axle to lower the front end 3 more inches? Let me know what you think. As far as the rest, the steering is handled and the brakes are about 2 hours from done. Hope to fire it up and get some primer on it this weekend. Tuesday is "D-DAY" so hopefully things go good this weekend.

Thanks, there's something to be said about working smarter , not harder especially for a couple of old farts. We've had lots of help from friends on top of what the two of us have got done. We got to thinking and wondered what we could get done if i wasn't working 45 hours a week at my real job and Triken working 20 at his. After this weekend we may slow down a bit !!!

milwscruffy, I never doubted your WILL, but I wouldn't have bitched if you'd run over a few days or a week . . .

BUT, YOU DID IT! "Barn Find to Runner in 30 Days" !!! Now, THERE is a car you can take exceeding pride in! Good work.

Thanks, but we're not there yet. Hopefully it's running sometime before the weekend is over. Yep pretty proud of this and how all the old friends pulled together and lent a hand, that means more than the car does.

this is a great build and congrats on making the progress that you've made.

concerning stance, it appears as if you have un-reversed spring eyes at the front frame horn location and at all the rear locations as well. reversing the spring eyes should be good for around an inch and a half in front, and if you relocated your shackle pivots higher in the frame, who knows?

Would it be possible to flip your u-bolts on the front axle to mount the axle over the springs instead of under them to get the front lower?

Yeah. It's hard to see from the pictures, but it looks like there is enough room for suspension travel if the axle was flipped to the top of the springs. That would lower it several inches.
