I'm betting this has been posted before, but I had never seen the episode in it's entirety and thought you fellas might enjoy it as well. It doesn't get any more cheesy than Ozzie and Harriet, but the roadster footage really is pretty fantastic and s...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
"Old timer claims modern hot rods don't stack up" Now it would say "Young punks on the hamb claim modern hot rods don't stack up"
Thanks Ryan, first time I've seen the whole episode. Looks like everyone was having fun and no fake drama like todays tv. Good old days for sure. Mike
darn... no you tube at work. I'm going to quit. might be hard to find another job where I can check out the HAMB all day long though.
I watched this several times in the past ...I really love the Tony La Mesa roadster and its a big influnce for my next build..
Thanks Ryan, Haven't seen the entire episode since it was on TV. Did anyone else find it hilarious that they were advertising color prints in black and white. And why was David driving, was Darby's kid too much of a wuss to pilot his own car? Enquiring minds want to know.
I was just going to ask who's roadster that was. It's definitely rad and I wouldn't mind owning one just like it!!!
Yes. That was exactly what I was thinking. The roadster is beautiful. I love that look. Thank you for sharing Ryan.
Ryan, I believe I watched that episode when it aired about 50 years ago. I was only 15 but was Hot Rod crazy. I remember pulling for the Hot Rod then but must admit I pulled for Ozzie this time. Did you notice Mr. Darby would later become the mayor of Mayberry? A program with those family values of Ozzie & Harriet would not make it past the first episode these days. That is very troubling. My family watched O&H every week. 77 Sunset Strip also. Every week I was hoping to see Kookie in his Hot Rod.
Ryan, you wouldn't believe the story about the "Ricky Nelson Deuce" and the fact that fellow car club member Kevan Sledge almost ended up with that car but was just a couple of months too late. Its a fantastic story and i'm going to try to get him on here and tell it.
Talk about going back ! Must be age that makes me want to see these more and more. I also loved the 60 olds ragtop on surfside six with Jack loard. and the hotrod on Hawaiian eye that as I recall was built by Geo Barris. dont forget the pink rolls royse on thunderbirds,LOL
I remember all those shows that I watched every week . Those were the great days when things were so much easier and a heck of a lot better than today ! Thanks Ryan for the great flashback of the times when we all watched those corny show of modern life . There were so many of those hot rods in the shows we all watched . Did we ever think that things would turn out the way things are now days ? It's a real shame that thins country is the way it is . No morals or respect ! Anyway thanks again Ryan for the good old shows !
My Pops just gave me a tape of that episode like a month ago... Why were they always drinking warm Coke in the garage? There's also one where one of the boys is trying to build I think, a '40 convert beside the house? Edgy stuff.
