I cheated a bit with the halftone pattern by adding the gradient underneath... makes the pattern less prominent...

Jeff Allison's use of halftone patterns this week is worth a study...

here are a couple illustrations from a OUI magazine in the 70's. they had George submit erotic illustrations of cars. george hired an artist to render his ideas. i don't know who the artist was.. maybe someone out there does. there are a couple more.. but not sure if they are appropriate for this site.. they almost built the actual cars!!

Here's a wallet I made for this funny guy out in Cali. His name is Jeff Dunham and he's a vantrilliquist. Check him out if you have a minute. (go to the videos link and watch the clips w/ "Achmed the Dead Terrorist") You'll know which ones when you see a skeleton w/ a turbin. Here's his website.
http://www.jeffdunham.com/#/home or search youtube.

anyways, his wallet has an Alligator base, w/ two Skulls and some "King George" border mirrored on both sides of it. It is sewn w/ a contrasting Red and White Stitching. The eyes of the skull are inlayed with Red Stingray. I also inlayed some extra Red Stingray to give it a super durable, reinforced spine. The inside is lined w/ a Red Japanese Geisha silk and is built from black kangaroo hide.
I really didn't want to do this project because the client was requesting an unproven pattern (new style of wallets for me) and needed it on a very short time frame. All things considered, I think it turned out o.k.; but Jeff was extremely happy... I guess that counts for something.
sorry for the super long post. I hope I haven't bored you all to death. Have a killer weekend.
