Well I have been asked several time post some pics of my hudson chop and I am finally getting around to it. 296V8 did a post before it went to sacramento autorama heres a link http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=331790&highlight=hudson+porn&showall=1 That was a slammed week for me as I took a few days off work to chop the car. That turned into 12 to 14 hour days and I cut the windshield at 3 oclock on set up day then took it to Sac very unfinished very last minute. Pontiac heaven picked up the window clip for me in Arizona which I still owe Steve some cash fo his hassle grabbing the clip and getting it to Ca. Steve If you read this I will cash you out and buy you beer in bakersfield:D Heres some pics of the begining of the chop.

Those last pics show the pre chop profile and the change out of the front window opening. i hated the 2 piece windshield so I grafted in the cowl top and window opening sheetmetal from a 54 hudson leaving A pillar structure alone at that point. i figured it was the place to start so it stayed lined up.

Then I removed the rear window opening area and cut the roof off after some carefule planning.

These pics are of the rear window area panel. I used a 56 olds trunk lid for the panel below the window it was super close to fitting but I put a little more crown in the panel with an english wheel. Heres some pics of the post chop profile. The chop is close to what Hudsoncustom did here on the Hamb except I changed the windshield, slanted the b pillars and chopped it touch more. i did the rear window area a little different as the back glass is different in my 53. I have since finished the inner structure and am now mocking up a front end change I'll post pics of that soon.

    Nice Merc....

Sorry, I'm sure you hear that all the time..VERY nice chop, well thought out cuts, perfect profile.

What happens to the drip rail around the C pillar area? Will it kind of fade away or go all the way to the belt line?

    Nice work, -Abone.

    Damn Dave!

The sail panels look sweet! The whole profile of the car is sweet! Do you still plan to section it? Let me know if you do, I'd like to be there to watch it go down. I take back all the jokes I made about your beard.

    Great build shots

Will you be taking the V out of the back of the hood and fresh air vent to match the shape of the new front screen

Nope keepin that vent it saves my ass when its hot out. The belt line stainless is going back on and it gets wider at the vent it looks real good with the stainless. Then again i might change my mind? Dave

I removed the vent but matched the curve of the screen to the back of the hood.
Changed the dash and garnish moulds as well, to give it a factory look.
